Never heard of that company before. The best place to get your vest from is
NIC Law Enforcement Supply. There web sites is www.nles.com
That's where we get our vest & ETC...... Try them out anyhow.

I buy other tactical supplies there too. I bought two Surefire 9p tactical flash lights, 50.00 each. You have to know your prices and include shipping. But if you do your homework, you can find some deals.

Re: Bullet Proof me is a reputable company. I have dealt with them many many times. They not only cater to customized garments for vip's, dignitaries, etc. They also custom build , to your specs, your vest. they add or delete pockets, weapons straps, utility compartments, etc.

They also carry "mill" vests...vests that are on the rack for generic purposes.

I would have no problem utilizing thier equipment. They custom designed, on a template, a combat-jungle warfare tactical vest when I was negotiating an EP Detail in the Columbian Jungle 2 years ago. Unfortunately, I didn't get the contract so I didn't get the vest.

But they are solid and reputable.

Gt distributors has a whole line of a variety of vests: undercover, dignitary, tactical, raid, SWAT, all at different threat levels and prices.

I bought mine from them, a threat level III w/trauma plates for $400.00 NIJ states it will stop up to a 7.62x39 mm.

But you can buy threat level II's, or even III's that have lesser ratings. But I look at it this way, how much is your life worth ? So get the best you can.

Things to consider regarding a vest :

1) Tactical or covert ?

2) Most Common Threat level in your AO: 9's, 40's, 45's, 38's, or shotguns, rifles, and knives ?

Each vest will only protect you from a distinct selction on the threat level spectrum. There is not a vest that will defeat all calibre's.

For example, if your vest is rated for 38's - 45's, then a .22 will typically defeat it.

Additionally, a BP vest is NOT PUNCTURE PROOF !
Yes, it will deflect a sharp or bladed object to a certain point, but you can still be cut, stabbed or impaled while wearing a BP vest.

1 other calibre that is relatively new to the scene is the controversial FN Herstal 5.7. It was specifically designed to defeat battlefield BP vests. Some LEO Agencies claim that even without the combat round, the civilian version is just as lethal in penetrating all BP vests.

Anyway, your lives are not your own. Here's what all of you need to realize: WE ARE ALREADY DEAD MEN WALKING ! So the sooner you wrap your brain around that, and get over the fear of dying, the better agent you will become. I'm not saying to drop all common sense and alertness......I'm simply stating that if your number is up..it's up..that's it. Nothing any of us can do about it. So accept it, make friends with it, and get on with your lives.

Has anyone seen the IDF vests on EBAY from Marom-Dolphin.

LEVEL 3A is $400 and they are made with Kevlar and the Israel version of Spectra.

I did a search on MAROM DOLPHIN and they are legit but I was wondering about the guy selling them or vests themselves.

THANKS

Rhino
