Hummmm, makes sense to me....:)
Firearms Refresher Course;

1. "Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not."~Thomas Jefferson

2. "Those who trade liberty for security have neither." ~ John Adams

3. Free men do not ask permission to bear arms.

4. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

5. Only a government that is afraid of its citizens tries to control them.

6. Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.

7. You only have the rights you are willing to fight for.

8. Know guns, know peace, know safety.
No guns, no peace, no safety.

9. You don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive.

10. Assault is a behavior, not a device.

11. 64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one yesterday.

12. The United States Constitution (c) 1791. All Rights Reserved.

13. The Second Amendment is in place in case the politicians ignore the others.

14. What part of 'shall not be infringed' do you NOT understand?

15. Guns have only two enemies; rust and politicians.

16. When you remove the people's right to bear arms, you create slaves.

17. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control.

Something I just posted on another site....

for what it is worth........... my 2 cents.......

If the gun was the real problem... or the magazine capacity... banning either or both would still not solve it.... you may as well ban people with long hair... or cars that look "too" sexy or anything that "looks" scary... it just isn't the gun... the problem is outside that loop but it still gives an emotional connection that can be focused on by the "anti-gun" folks... I am a life NRA member but I will say that background checks are fine... if they can be applied equally... but even that, in a free society, will only work some of the time.... you still cannot predict what someone will do tomorrow or the next day... this problem is much deeper than the look of a particular gun... deeper than trying to put the problem in a neat little box... what has taken place in this country over the last 60 or so years in so many areas of life... is what the problem stems from.... banning a gun just isn't the answer... it is far deeper and much more complicated... and the greatest problem as I see it... is forming answers based on emotions rather than facts.... as said before... two statements... "this is not about gun control, it is about control" and second... "disarming innocent people does not protect innocent people".

One last statement that comes from me....

"If your entering a bear infested forest... you don't leave your guns in the truck"

In 3 days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11 people were shot in Oakland, CA. Four died.

There are no gun stores in Oakland.
There are no gun shows at the Alameda County Fair Grounds. (They were banned in the '80s by a county supervisior's legislation.)

Oakland has had several "gun buyback" programs. They are planning another.

Not one street criminal has turned in a gun. Usually it is older people that have never used it or no longer want it.

Not one firearm recovered in a Oakland shooting, was that of the registered owner or a CCW permit holder. ( Almost impossible to get a CCW in Alameda county.)

Almost all the weapons recovered had high capacity magazines that are banned in CA.(But very few weapons are ever recovered at shootings.)

In the '90s when Bill Clinton was president and we had the "assault weapons ban", the ATF intercepted a shipping cargo container loaded with 600 AK style rifles headed for street gangs in Los Angeles. They were made in China. ( They can only guess at how many actually get through.)

I would be fine with congress passing a gun ban so long as they are the ones putting uniforms on and are ready to die to take my guns. That is the thing thing with gun grabbers, they rely on the courage of others to carry out their treason.

Taking guns from legally armed citizens fails to address the issue of armed criminals. Evidence is the violent crime rate in jurisdictions with the strictest gun laws. Murder rates are only a small window into the use of weapons in violent crime and do not accurately attest to the root cause. Entitlement philosophies, Pre-Trial release methodologies, inconsistant judiciaries, and lack of employment among our disadvantaged youth are the real issues and they will be continued to be ignored when the focus remains on restricting legal gun ownership by responsible citizens. We have very well advertised mandatory 5 year prison sentences for gun related crimes that are routinely pled down to PBJ, Nolle Prosqui, Stetted or lessor charges with no jail time. The dichotomy is that the advertising appeases the cries from law abiding citizens and the plea deals appeaze the legal system, most importantly the criminal element.

To fix the problem we need to do a root cause analysis and address the results in a bi-partison approach for the benefit of all of us.

Root cause #1 - single parent homes e.i. no father
Root cause #2 - inmoral society
Root cause #3 - high school drop out e.i. completed high school but did not receive or accept an education.
Root cause #4 - media, society, government brainwashing e.i. you are not the blame for what ever is holdng you down. Racism is.
