Thanks guys. Bloodhound sent me the link to springfield to check out the new xd .45; holds 13+1.

So alot of you say the XD's are good ?..never let you down, jammed, misfired ?

I'll probably give it a try.

Hadley: you are so right...doesn't matter what you are shooting if you miss the target.

Love the XD's. No problems on my end and I've put several thousand rounds through my 4 inch and about 500 through my 3 inch.

Keep in mind that all guns have problems at one time or another though and like chevy and ford, everyone has their preference.

Check out:

it has range reports, accesories, updates, etc. Really good site.

Thanks for all of the info. I've been to 4 different gun stores in 2 diff states in the last 24 hours trying to locate the new Springfield xd double stack .45.

Seems Sprinfield has not released any onto the market yet. They are supposed to be released around Feb. 15, 2006 according to 2 of the stores I talked to.

Price is supposed to range from $450.00 to $500.00 Depending on where you live.

About the same as the other tactical name brand pistols out here.

Anyway, take care folks.

I use a Ruger p-345 w/ a streamlight Tac-light I've probably put 6 or 7 hundred rounds through it and never had a jam or a misfire... Some ppl disdain Rugers for some reason.. but I can't figure out why.

Gary Crane, former Portland Police Bureau's range sergeant, a US marksmanship champion, and my gun instructor, said that the 1911 (standard military config) is the best that will ever be.

I believe him.

That new xd 45 should be nice when it comes out. Like I said, the only issue I have with the springfield is the finish.

As soon as I get some extra cash, from some past due invoices owed me, I am going to buy the duracoat kit and duracoat my springfields.

my .45 ACP is massive, so I don't carry it concealed (I use my .38 spl, and my CZ-52 for that). My 45 is a Hi-Point and before you guys chuckle, go out and shoot one. I have no problem getting 3" groups at 15 yards with it. My buddy Dennis was a small arms instructor in the Army and while he admits that the Hi-Point is ugly, he shot mine and now he wants one.

They are ugly, they shoot great and they are UNDER $200, brand new, lifetime warranty.
