Question about mentoring

In my research about getting into the BEA business, one of the most universal advices for the person just starting out is "don't quit your day job." The reasons for that are pretty obvious to me, but what I'm concerned about is the degree to which you can be an effective trainee while working another job full or even part time. Skips aren't usually caught in an hour, the time commitment is obviously quite big, so how much use can a professional BEA make of a trainee who has other work commitments?

learning this crazy calling is a long arduous task--most of the bail we hunt are in the 1000 to 5000 dollar amounts so the payouts are from 100.00 to 750.00 dollars --not much room for an apprentise--sure there are better paying skips at times but on average this is our bread and butter

this is also a time nightmare you never know when the trail turns hot than cold than hot again--so do the best you can do stick to your training and get some street experiance--even then work in this field does not come easy

Agreed, definitely. So, I'm assuming then that it's not crazy to assume that a professional mentor can make some use of somebody who has another job?

you are correct-aq good mentor will be able to use your time and skills while giving you need experiance and street knowledge
