The BEA tried his best, they need to get this guy off the streets and leave him in jail. Hopefully he'll get what he deserves.
Hopefully the BEA will have a quick recovery and they will put this guy away!

Jumping in the bed of his truck as he sped away, eh? Not sure about others, but my opinion is NEVER put yourself or others in unnecessary danger over a fugitive. It's not worth it. That's what police are trained and paid for. Getting a plate and vehicle description, following the vehicle at a safe distance, maybe running the plate to get an address, all would help lead you to a point where the fugitive would eventually park and hang his head...where there's greater opportunity to arrest him.
In my opinion, the BEA risked his life by doing what he did, and I would have done things differently.

In my opinion, the BEA risked his life by doing what he did, and I would have done things differently. I would have to agree. You should always consider the alternative if your plan doesn't work. If the driver stopped when he was told, then it would have been okay. But if he didn't you have no options to make him stop. I think getting a plate and attempting to follow would have been a better plan. Given the fugitives history I would be inclined to assume he would not cooperate.

I agree with you guys! He made the decision, I wouldn't of jumped on anyones car, especially if you consider the history of this guy. He did what he thought was the right action for that situation. Under stress levels, people act in non-logical manners, which is why I believe the proper training, and simulation of real-time situation could've prevented him from getting hurt and putting himself in harms way. Just my opinion!

I agree.
I don't think that the skip was worth that kind of risk.
There were other ways it could have been handled.
Tony that question could be asked about the bondsman as well.
With that kind of background and the fact that he tried to run....and got tased LOL.....during the first arrest In probably would not have bailed him out in the first place.
I bet he warranted on his first appearance date.

Dave I agree,
When I get questions about bailing someone, if I research and find a warrant for a FTA, the requirements go way up to the point that most will go elsewhere to find a bail bondsman that wont require as much as I do.

Screening a potential customer, I think is necessary to protect your investment. Secondly, in my opinion, the BEA created all kinds of liability for everyone with his reckless actions. As the hunter of our prey, we usually have the luxury of multiple facets of strategic apprehensions: Timing, location, personnel, equipment, weapons, inclusion of law enforcement, etc.
Attempted apprehensions done "on the fly" very rarely succeed. To quote Mdbtyhtr: "What starts out bad, ends up bad". Truer words were never spoken.
