While some very able people have been mentioned, I agree with Joe Stiles. I'm fairly new here and my opinion may or may not matter much, it's still my opinion.

I too agree with that Joe . . .
Kinda glad that Phill never got that chat thingy going . . . Those that hang out on those most often do not participate in the FORUMs . . . and it would have required someone to watch over it (the chatroom) and we Mods have enough to watch over just reading and keeping up with the FORUMs.

That is exactly what I was alluding to.... the time and effort involved in this will be quite a task... I am glad you chimed in on this, Joe... your opinion always carries weight.

I agree with the gentleman from TN, elections or appointments are premature. We must still establish what type of leadership we want and need to expand that discussion further than was addressed in Las Vegas. Every member should have an equal voice, regardless of how well one markets one's self. All opinions have value and all of our careers are on the line.

Just to clarify my position a bit, I will be involved and glad to be a member of the board as an area director. If I am able to unseat the current CBAA president and get elected, then I would be ineligible to serve as a member of the exec committee of the NABBI.

The executive committee is usually made up of the president, vice prezs, treasurer and secretary.

The rest of the board would be the area directors.

I could and would be more than willing to be a area director. We can hash out some of the details next week over crab and beer and other liquids!

Now if I happen to lose the election at the CBAA, I can revisit an exec committee position on the NABBI.

What I am hoping to do is be a bridge between the bail bond side and the recovery side. There is still a lot of difference of opinions and lack of respect between the two groups. Even among board members of the CBAA.

Finally, as others have said, we will still need to set up a meeting for everyone to attend, even those that are not on FRN and have an election from all those willing to serve.

At first we were looking at next June. Then some wanted to move it up. There will never be a time or location that everyone can make it. So when it comes down to setting a final date, we will have to do our best to pick one that the most people can attend.

All of these suggestions are great and I have to agree on the fact that we need an elected official when the proper time presents itself.Again,we do not need to get to far ahead of ourselves. We do need to keep these things in mind but lets not rush into it.A president(as some have stated) will need to completely understand all that comes with the position, not only the president but the entire board as well.As Scott stated"all of our careers are on the line" so as board members and president they need to keep that in mind and accept that responsibility.

After reading through the responses from some of our hopeful presidents,I have come up with 2 nominees as well for president.Just as a thought for now but I would vote for Joe Stiles or Scott Maclean. As I said though this is early for a vote but those two(imho) would be at the top of my list.

I am sure there are others that may be qualified but they are the 1st 2 that come to mind given the circumstances of the others not being able to.It is a difficult decision to make given all the talent we have.

Tony, just remember..."you can please some people some of the time, but you cant please all of the people all of the time." I think that is how that quote goes!!

Howdy,

I am willing to put my reputation on the line to help. With all of the unique questions and situations that occur here in Illinois, perhaps it would be good to have someone help folks steer clear of problems here, and help push for a new commercial bail bond system here.

I agree that anyone that is willing to jump into the seat and become our president should know that it will require a great amount of time and money to lead us into the right direction. I am willing to offert my time 24/7 to help out whoever is elected to handle California. A good leader will need a lot of help and I commit my self and my team to provide assistance in any way.

Commitment and wide spread involvement will get it done. The crab smash in Md. was a success and the discussion on NABBI was on the table... literally... along with about 50 lbs. of crabs and beer. The discussions were, however, quite serious and brought much into the mix.

I will leave it to the top dogs to relate those discussions to the members here and it appears that others from all over the country and with varied levels of training and experience are becoming involved and frankly, that is exactly what needs to be coordinated and brought to the table.

FRN may be a large part of this endeavor but as mentioned by many, it has to be inclusive of all walks of this industry... training, experience and commitment from many levels.

I am putting together a picture thread of the crab smash which should be up in a day or so. The discussion on the NABBI meeting can come from other much more qualified secretaries.
