My search for Bail Enforcement Training Schools through the national site for the Better Business Bureau came up with the following:

That's all, folks. I thought there would be more which would seek a decent rating from the BBB.

After watching a special on I believe cnn about the way the BBB has been working,I have lost faith in them. There was a special on BBB were reporters ran a sort of sting, made false companies and even gave them names such as one that was named after the arien brotherhood and one that was fake owned by osama bin laden. The names werent the issue,it was if you paid "x" amount of dollars than you get a better rating. So it kind of diluted the whole rating system of the BBB.

As to your question I would say whoever pays the most money gets the better ranking so in my opinion that would be the way they rank them.

The BBB wanted to charge be almost $700 a year to be listed on their BBB site for my Jetski Rental Business... I almost fell down when this lady told me that price .. I was like "WHAT!" I then told her "No Thanks" and hung up.. this lady from the BBB continued to call me no joke, for 5 months until I had to threaten a Harassment Lawsuit on her and the BBB.. then the Soliciting Stopped.. they are desprerate for companies to join and honestly I think with the internet being as it is you can find out info on any business that has done or is conducting themselves in a poor or illegal or scamming manner..

BBB is a pay for rating organization, period. If there is a dispute, and you are a member, you will get positive resolution marks, if not, they can't say anything other than would not cooperate, or similar response.

The CNN, Fox, and other reports which surfaced a few months ago were generated by a state attorney general's office, which investigated certain BBB offices. As the facts of their case unfolded, it became quite evident that nearly all BBB's are not guilty-as-charged, because their local board of directors are responsible for most of the policies set forth.

Proof of the fairness of most of the BBB's conduct can be seen in three of the four academies I list in Post #1 above. Three of the academies have an A rating, including one that is A+ Rated, yet none of them are paying members of the BBB.

Likewise, if you perform a BBB search for Bail Bond, you will also see several hundred agencies have an A rating who are not a BBB member, as well as 200+ agencies that are BBB members. If you perform the same search for private investigators, you will see the numbers drop substantially. When I looked into joining a private investigators association, there were very few, and the only one that had an A+ rating as a member of the BBB was the International Private Investigators Union.

If it's not going to break your bank account, the minimum BBB dues average $350 a year, which includes the use of their BBB Accredited Business Logo.

And there is also the minimum Dun & Bradstreet annual fees for monitoring your business DUNS Number and developing corporate credit accounts is $549 a year.

Yes, these fees are not required, but they do convey trust when dealing with the general public. (Then again, the $500 a year I give to my CPA only gets me the official IRS receipt that I am a good tax payer.)

Regardless of your research, I have dealt with these people when I was in corporate America, if you pay to play, you will get good ratings, as I previously posted, if not they are a bear to deal with. When questioned, they immediately went to the sales pitch and how it could "Protect" your business reputation. I felt like I was dealing with a funeral director, no dice.

Same here Scott, $700 to list my bail company and a discount if I included my security company.
