First off. if you file the motion yourself, the answer is returned to your address so you know the answer first. Second, it is truly providing a service to your client to handle the case through to resolution, and adds value to your services as well as professional experience. But you did not take that approach, so you are having him complete the task, and he is not going to pay you until he finds out if he is exonerated. It will cost him $25.00 to file the exoneration motion and takes about 1-2 weeks to find out, when we are not in the Holiday season, so another week or two may not be out of line, depending on the county. You can go to my website
www.BailMD.com and go to the link for court searches. You can read your self in the case minutes if the case has been exonerated or simply go to the court house to see if he filed the motion in the first place. If the file is not available, it means it is in an Administrative Judge's possession and he is ruling on the case.
Best of luck
