So its come to that... Chapman is being a spokesperson for the bail enforcement industry. I quit!

Can anyone answer why a group calling themselves professional would have the likes of Duane Chapman speak on a subject he knows little about? Perhaps it is for the PR Chapman generates because it certainly isn't for any positive learning process, nor to advance the image of bail enforcement. PBUS should be ashamed.

Organizations should attempt to sponsor a debate between Chapman and professionals instead of trying to squeeze into such a controversial and wrongful shadow such as Mr. Chapman casts.

Whatever happened to the two people on bail where Chapman revoked their bail just because he had no ongoing cases for the camera and needed some film footage? Last I heard a law suit was filed or going to be filed.

I just found this on the PBUS web site under "Recovery Agents" , and they have Dog coming to discuss BEA's / FRA's, what hypocrites!!!!!!

If you’re a convicted felon – forget it. No one is hiring felons as recovery agents anymore – you are too much of a liability if something goes wrong. If you look like a biker, a gangbanger or maybe even Wyatt Earp with your black hat and duster – you can go home too. No one is going to hire you – we don’t need that image around us, we want professionals who can get the job done – not TV characters who screw up and wind up on the ten o’clock news.

I know many bondsmen also do recovery work, I'm guessing that those leading PBUS have no clue about recovery work, I think the members of PBUS need to clean house.

By PBUS having Chapman as a speaker on (of all subjects!) bail enforcement, they are in direct conflict with their own preachings. Theirs is hypocrisy to the max! But, as most of know, PBUS doesn't really amount to much in the bail industry. I already know of two members who will not be renewing their membership because of PBUS associating with Mr. Chapman. They read the postings herein and sent me an email about it (one of them did anyway).

PBUS seems to be dying from the inside out and cares only to insulate the ideas of a certain few who maintain control over their domain.

As BECPA referenced... PBUS is strangling from their own hypocrisy posted on their website, to wit: "If you’re a convicted felon – forget it. No one is hiring felons as recovery agents anymore (Isn't Mr. Chapman a felon?) – you are too much of a liability if something goes wrong (From the antics Chapman and his posse pose on their comedy show, Dog, The Bounty Hunter, I would consider them all a liability especially Beth when she yells 'Crack Head' and 'Ice Head' at people). If you look like a biker, a gangbanger or maybe even Wyatt Earp with your black hat and duster –you can go home too (Which one does PBUS think Chapman looks like?). No one is going to hire you (No. You can only be a speaker at a PBUS convention)– we don’t need that image around us (PBUS wants to be part of the Chapman image!), we want professionals (Chapman is a professional?) who can get the job done – not TV characters (?????) who screw up (I won't even dignify this one with a comment) and wind up on the ten o’clock news (Being in the news is what Chapman's lives for). "

What a shame! What a waste!

We need to start a campaign to try and stop this if we can. We could all send letters and e-mails to PBUS pointing out their hypocrisy and volunteering to attend and speak in his place.

I have already volunteered to speak and debate du-du(a past pbus offical called me)I have also told him i could get many real proffessional beas as they want to hear --truth is not what they are looking for publicity is what they want--if the pbus continues on this crash course i believe they are sounding their own death song--this backwards attempt to gain the public eye will surely backfire on pbus and most of the members will leave the fold-pbus could have been an organization to push for logical change and proffessional beas but in their rabid attempt at gaining the publics favor by using du-du and supporting a platform to strip bea of our arrest authority is insane at the least---Yes they will get the trailer crowd but will alienate most thinking people

I just received info again from a reliable source that a bondsmen from a southern state has already notified the PBUS telling them if du-du speaks he will not renew his membership--ALEADY SH-T IS ROLLING DOWNHILL-My associate LAW always tells me to forget a national association or a new federal law and I will bet he is right-but being the stubborn russian-german I am I like tilting at windmills and still say we need to gather our voice to a roar and use this occasion to get heard - I am setting up meetings with two of my federal legislators- I ask we all do the same in our areas of operation and show them some facts--do not waste their time with war stories but show them arrest records, newspaper stories, any facts you can gather about you area of operation and your success-then hit them in the pocket book-- just imagine the cost to the taxpayer to enlarge the local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest the extra 70 or 80 thousand skips we find and apprehend all at no cost the the public.BOY DO I SOUND LIKE A BROKEN RECORD
