Ok this may be a bit childish and immature but did anybody else notice were T-Gard bail bonding was based out of?!
seems to be a fitting name for a location of this story!!
In all seriousnous though, more often than not bail bondsmen do not check the credentials of the recovery agents they hire.I cant tell you how many bondsmen i have worked for that never even asked me if i had any kind of certifications.I have had to make sure they see my credentials on my own free will without being asked. Not sure if they didnt care if i had them or not, either way they were going to send me out without even a second thought about it.
Here is a question i have about this article....How does a fugitive recovery agent "deputize" a fugitive recovery agent?!! And does this woman realise what would have happened if she did shoot this man in the back as he was running away?

ummmmmmmmmmmmm
I do not know this bondsman but I do know who the Company Owner is.

Quote:
Sifford failed to contact police before attempting to capture Raines, as required by the Arkansas Professional Bail Bondsman Licensing Board.

well they got part of it right ~ NOT reporting is a Class "D" Felony ~ but it is not the Rules of The APBBLB. It is by Statute

16-84-114
(4) Any bail bond agent attempting to apprehend a defendant shall notify the local law enforcement agency or agencies of his or her presence and provide the local law enforcement agency or agencies with the defendant's name, charges, and suspected location.
(5) Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be guilty of a Class D felony.

You will see that according to said Statute one does not even have due process but "shall be guilty of"

I would venture to say that she did not listen very well in class and def did not have the same teacher as myself. There are @ least three certified by the Board to do the teaching. However I will tell you . . . things and people are a bit different in the flatlands.

Jay . . . do eat rice ? Odds are it came thru Weiner ;-) Arkansas grows rice for Riceland and Weiner is one of the biggest holding areas for the grain. HUGE plant in Jonesboro (just down the road a bit).

There is a road that goes from Weiner thru to Harrisburg ~ Weiner Cutoff . . . Now can you guess which sign is always getting REPLACED ;-)

NOW you can fall off your chair laughing.

The Bounty Boys were part of our CE (how not to do) and, I can assure you . . . this case will be a part of next years.

FYI,

My how not to hire was referring to the bail agent herslf, not the "deputized" assistants. Obviously, she did not pay attention in class like LuVonda stated and she does not understand the firearms laws of her state.

Anyone that works with me or if I work with them, has to know the laws of our state. Period!

 Unfortunately Weasel, that is they way it is here and I am sure some other places.
Bondsmen come . . . Bondsmen go . . . and so it goes ;-)
There are some that THINK that there is a TON of $$$$ in this and when they realize that there may be some actual "pay attention work" to it . . . they are 'out of here'

Lol Luv,I think I can guess which sign gets replaced more.
I was not making the statement towards the town itself though,Just the fitting name for the location.
I understand the concept of having a friend come with you to help out but the risk is to great to have a uncertified person with me that may jeopordise my work.I do however have friends that became certified just so they could work with me.

I took no offense . . .
Just this past CE class the Instructor brought up the "idea" that is being knocked around about 'dual' licensing such as is available in MO. Been trying to get that done for a long time. So my response was . . . "Imagine that".
According to those 'in the know' here if one is "trained' in Recovery and the aspects of it then that moves that party / business up the ladder in Insurance to the level of LE . . . freakin crazy!
I have been spouting that if one is properly "trained' they become less of a liability to the community and the company.
hmmmm . . . maybe somebody decided to think that way as well.
