First off, I am not a fugitive recovery agent in any way, nor anything related to it.
Secondly, I am not used to having to pay for getting names on phone searches, such as whitepages.com
Therefor I allow myself to ask those who might use this on a regular basis. When entering a phone number on whitepages.com and press the "name available" link I am redirected to something called "people search pro" and they want money. Either $9.95 for one search or a 12 month subscription of $2.95 all billed in once, $35.40
1.Is this a scam, and is this the only way to get a name online?
2.Is there any other "open to the public, pages that is more up to date and reliable then others? If so, please recommend me where to go.
I only ask since I am from a different country where such information is free via the phone books searches, so this was new to me and I would like some owners of some phone numbers.

Thank you John. There seems to be a LOT of people coming here that ask questions and when answered are not happy. Instead of accepting the answers they get ~ they get obnoxious. "royal highness and queen" ~ . . . should I add it to my sig line ?  Just kidding . . . not a drop of "British" blood in me . . . nope. Just Irish and Native American Tina ~ all you have to do is . . . read the "fine print" at the bottom of those pages, would have saved all that time, and . . . shouldn't r.h. and q have been capped ?
