Well, we tell them up front what to expect on here, they give it a go and then chicken out.... I think that is what separates us from the other sites... we can be very helpful but always vigilant to the less than truthful. Our kitchen heat is sometimes rather intense.... Image

AND I LOVE TO COOK?

I dont believe it is intense heat but rather intense reality.Which im sorry to say that some people need that little dose every now and than.I am sure it has been said here before that if we dont put them on the right track than who will? we are here to protect our industry not hurt it and this site offers that valuable tool to do just that.

People have changed over my life time. A hand shake was a persons word which use to mean something, folks worked for the things they wanted, it was not given to us or did we expect it to be. We were employed at the bottom at minumum pay we never thought we should get as much as someone who had been at the company 20yrs. We didn't sue people if they farted in our space( ) I THINK ALOT OF THINGS HAVE CHANGED FOR THE WORSE.

There is no shame in being just a regular joe wanting to be something or someone at the top or own your own business that is what is good about the American Dream. Just be who you say you are and try to do what you say you will. Owning your own business is not always a good thing, its tough you never just work 40hrs and go home. I have wished to go back to being an employee many times over the years.

So just be yourself

What a post... you are so right on all fronts Dave... I thought the same thing...being retired, I got home last nite from a regional jail... writing a little $1500 bond where I made after expenses about $135.00, took me 3 hours which was fine per hour but not setting the world on fire... as I drove home at 11pm... I thought how nice it would be to not have to worry about anything except driving my little UPS truck on my scheduled run... collecting a fat paycheck on Friday, having all my hospitalization, life insurance, retirement and all the other amenities taken care of... going home on the weekend and letting someone else worry about the maintenance, the paperwork, the hundreds of other jobs that we have to do to be in business................. oh, well.... I suppose not taking orders from anyone is fine.. but the funny thing is........... and I think you will agree.... when your self employed, if your successful... you are your own toughest boss and take your own orders... minute by minute, day by day...

I also do not know where it is going and have said so many times on here... but at our age I suppose we don't have to be overly concerned... it's gonna be rough for our kids and grand kids, however.

Take care my friend and thanks for your insight.
