Mr. Maclean, I do not in any way take this as a personal attack. Please do not take this of content; I realize both men are convicted criminals with records, which will probably be there for the rest of their lives.
There are bad seeds in every profession, not just bail bondmans and private investigators; some are more visible then others, and in these two cases it is quite clear what they did to conger these criminal records; the out-come included.
Re-cap, Based on the Dogs regulations in his state, the tactics he uses at this point are legal, regardless of who agrees or disagrees. If he lived in North Carolina, his bounty hunting endeavors would never happen, as a direct result of his criminal record.

Kitty Regardless of the codified statutes regarding bail laws, he still has no right or authority to violate an individuals civil rights, which is a Federal offense. He does this all of the time and there is video evidence of it.

Kittygirl, I have to disagree with you. I am a former deputy in Wisconsin. The laws vary from state to state, but for the most part are similar. I've watched Dog's "antics" numerous times. I could make a list of laws he violates on his shows. If it wasn't scripted, he'd have numerous charges filed against him.

Scott I agree, but who will take up this legistration on your findings, with evidence in hand? Icer, if this is script content, then dog is a professional actor, and therefore, cannot be charged. Keeping in mind the bail bonding business is up an operating within the state, in his wifes name of course. We can argue this issue until the cows come home, the point is, if you feel he is violating the civil rights of citizens, find a course of action to stop it, other wise its good tv,no matter what anyone else thinks or does. Well....goodnight, I need to get my paper work in order before my deadline of opening next month.

Not that it makes a difference, but I think that last show and many of the others are in Colorado and not Hawaii.... neither state has recovery laws to my knowledge, at least not as such... and a felon can operate in either if hired by a licensed bondsman... I think that is correct, huh Kathy?? ... but that is a moot point on this particular subject I think. I got a guy out the other day... really rough looking excon, street wise and very tough.... he was really trying to get his life straight... however, he got a DUI and has made all his court appearances... he told me in the course of our conversation.... "I think DOG is kinda cute... pretty blond hair and all..... wish he had been it Greensville when I was there, he could have been my girlfriend.." I made no comment... whew!!!!

Scripted or not, they have been sued successfully for trespassing and assault. Now they settled out of court to prevent any or more embarrasment to the show and network.
However, what most bail agents and recovery agents know, is that he is an embarrasment to the profession. Whether or not the show has "informed" the general public how bail is suppose to work, it would be like having the Keystone Cops set the standard for police work.
Finally, having "paid" ones debt to society does not entitle one to any job they want. He could not become a cop if he wanted to. And in some areas, bail and recovery agents have more authority to "arrest" someone than LEOs do.
So if he and others like him want to turn their lives around, in my opinion, they should do it in some other way.
It is plain to see that he loves to throw his "authority" around. It has cost him money when he has broken the law. Its just that the network has paid off those he has violated to keep him out of trouble.
A&E paid to keep him butt out of Mexico jails.
Which reminds me. Its OK for him to skip bail but, not the people he goes after.
Can anyone say hyprocite?

Polite golf applause for the esteemed Mr. Suggs of California.
Why people fall under the spell of fantasy eludes me. but they do. I think Kathy referred to some personal knowledge of the scripting at one point, but I am old and my recollection is not always accurate anymore.

Quote: but I am old and my recollection is not always accurate anymore. Scott Scott, one advantage of age.... hind-site is always 20/20 and that is as accurate as you can get. So, recollection doesn't really matter, it's what you don't remember and make up that matters.... see, when you can't remember all the details and you have to start ad-libling... you can make it as accurate as you want... that is why my stories are always 100% accurate. Note, I did not say they were always true..... only accurate. Truth and accuracy are two entirely different things.
