Chances are that his MAIN business IS bail bonding. He probably picked up a couple of his own skips and assisted a few bail bond companies for his experience. As far as the other stuff: Workout in the gym 2hours including drive time, 2 hours of martial arts maybe 2-3 times a week, skip tracing WHEN he gets them 10 hours a week, expanding his business when he dedicates time (which could be never), and finally maintaining his website requires little to NO time at all.

Seems like an easy week to me. lol

Edit: I just read one his stories wherein he states he picked up one of his skips and finds another skip for a different bondsman there. What does he do? He leavers her there! Pregnant or not, I would never let a person whom I knew to be on the run go. I would have placed a call to the police and waited for them to arrive. From there I would contact the bail bondsman and advise them that their skip is now in custody. I wouldn't ask for a dime, but certainly would welcome any opportunities their company had for handling.

Talk about a great marketing opportunity wasted.

I would be careful about apprehending people on the run for another bondsmen if you don't have a contract already. Unless your state allows citizen arrest for fugitives you would be performing an unlawful imprisonment. I know of a few cases this has happened in Washington. They resulted in felony kidnapping charges. BEA authority comes from the contract with the bondsmen. If you don't have that contract your likely going to get into trouble.

I have also found that police in Washington at least don't get involved in Bail Bond Recovery. Regardless of the warrant most police in Washington see it as a civil matter. Might be a different response in different areas.

I never said I would apprehend her. What I said was I wouldn't let her go. I would, as I stated in my post, wait for the police to arrive and take her into custody. I wouldn't expect anything from the bail bond company, also as previously stated, but rather offer my assistance for any future opportunities because of my handling on that case.

I'm fully aware that I cannot simply take anyone into custody and I only arrest defendants that I've received authorization to do so. I know the law and never take chances when it comes to arresting defendants. As far as police getting involved are concerned, I could easily find out who is on the bond and call the company directly. I'm sure the bondsman would not have a problem coming down there to effect the arrest if the police won't.

The point of my post was to point out the missed opportunity to assist another company in our industry and a marketing opportunity sorely missed for future business.

I guess my question is how are you going to not let that person go? Will they just wait there nicely for the police or bondsmen? You are going to have to detain them if you are not going to let them go. Am I misunderstanding what your saying? If your going to in any way prevent them from leaving your presence you have detained them unlawfully. I am not trying to give you a hard time. I could just be misunderstanding what your saying. I just don't want anyone getting into trouble by good intentions.

We were taught in our training to only deal with one defendant at a time no matter what. The reason was liability. So I personally would let a wanted person go. In fact a person we have been searching for was found by another BEA but he had another person in the car already and had to let our fugitive go as a result. If you can find them once you can find them again. In most cases the police in our state could care less whether or not the person is wanted. This is especially the case when it's non extraditable from one county or city to another.
