Has any of you out there ever had a Bond Agent purposely withhold information from you when your trying to recover there subject? I just worked a case and come to find out someone had tipped the subject off that we were going to be at his residence looking for him. This case was a few states away so how would he know we were coming on that particular day? We also discovered that his ex-girlfriend (also the mother of his 2 children) was never investigated and we were told NOT to contact her and to leave her alone. The bond paper work doesn’t even have her real name on it and only has her “stage name” on it. Now I don’t know about you all but that seems a bit strange to me and the best part of this case was that we weren’t even given a picture. We had to get one from the local police who had dealing with our target in the past. Please let me know what you think and I can give you more details on the case if you like. To this day the subject is still at large.

Paul,
Most of the time when a bail bond company dosen't give you all the info on the defendant, their hinding something from you.
Back away from those type of company's... You will get burned from these types.

What Steve said... When I do a bond, I get an ID from the co-signer...and most of the depts I deal with run that person to be sure... It all works out when the bondsman does the job right the first time...

And if the withholding of information wasn’t bad enough it seems like they have other agents working on my cases witch I have a contract for, yeah I think its time I find a different company to work for, I’m not going to ruin my companies record for some BS like this.

Hello Paul, this is off point and I hope you don't mind the feedback. I noticed that you are posting your EIN and thought you may be at higher risk so I decided to post this link. I don't mean to interrupt and take away from your topic. If you are interested here is some information regarding EIN fraud. The content we post here may get indexed into various sites and search engines making it easier for bad guys to get their hands on it.

It is time to have a sit down with this company if not tell them to go jump in the lake.

I started working a case recently for a new bondsman and found out that there are several recovery companies looking for the same defendant on the same bond. It's BS and I'm walking away unless he calls everyone else off.

Multiple Agents working the same case in very dangerous, they don't know you and you don/t know them

I don't understand what is hindering your decision making process, if they are doing shady business, get away from them. Were something to go wrong in your investigation, like retaliation from a family member due to the actions of a previous investigator, the bondsman would distance himself from you like he was on an express train leaving town. Secondly, your contract should stipulate your exclusivity, that they agree to remove previous investigators from the case, and the coconut tree doctrine (If I shake the tree, and the coconut falls, I get paid) in that you have earned your full commission now matter how the warrant gets served on the defendant.
Think about how you approach business...If you are begging for work or your first case and you appear anxious or desperate, you won't get the best deal as you are not negotiating from a position of power.
