 Post subject: Think Then Respond

Your loosing track, I never said there was anything wrong with the military in the first place, I was military to. I think some of you just need to rewrite your quals with a little more thought and not like rambos hiring sidekicks. Its not rocket science what I said in my forum. Your right BECPA mabye I should of used something other than silly, but if you can tell me what a lot of these quals like being a sniper have to do with getting a job?(yes I'm expecting to here from you now to!) Sure you could brake everyones qual down into something related. A bag boy at foodlion could be quick at getting his gear ready and packed carefully, see what I mean! I think people just need to think about a more professional way to put qauls. Mr. Personable could you tell me were you saw me say anything about trading what I learned or did in the military, why would I? Tavalez, from reading your response you do sound dedicated and eager. I appologize and wish you luck in the field. Theres just to many who watch tv and start getting in the mix without a clue. HoundDog once again I never said having military on a team is a bad thing. Finaly Dmartz, obviously your the kid out of the people who responded here and who broke the code on the parental control on your parents computer. Martz how do I now your not a fake or another passer byer wanting attention. See how that can work both ways. I'm not one to say I'm better than someone but on the teamwork subject, I'll run circles around you. Why are you responding to me and bringing up tinker bell and tights anyway? Nevermind don't answer that! Don't talk to me about teamwork, and by the way chump I was in Buds Class 341 and some. For those of you out there dedicated(you know who you are) best of luck! And please give the wanna-be thing a rest. We are all wanna-bes at one time or another and still are, because what ever it is we are doing in life we always wanna-be better!

Mindtracker,

"Of The Troops For The Troops." Like you, I am very proud of my MP background.

Incidentally, I think I saw a new insect every single day that I was in Alabama

This huge Moth with an oversized Ant mouth flew into the bay and startled some people in the showers

Then a guy thought it would be funny to put freaky looking spider into the gas mask of another guy who was afraid of spiders and yell out "Gas!"

I'm getting off point.....

barkinshark,

Perhaps it would be beneficial to your argument ("argument" is not meant to denote anything other than making a valid point in support of your position) if you were to provide examples of how your bail enforcement background brought you to your conclusions.

As for Mr. Martz, I would go through any door with him, and that is as simple as it gets.

Rex

I agree HGUNNER! Yes discipline is very important! You should also know about how many undisciplined people there are also in the military. Why is everyone still riding on the military subject by the way. This is about people and there quals, military or not. What HGunner listed as things he looks for in quals I totally agree. Stop going out to left field with it. Sounds like I should be asking you all to clearify your positions instead. Like what HGUNNER said he would like to see on a resume, I would to. I would read that one before I read the one where he is giving me the run down on his ability to choke people out and their ability to perform ninja skills, or former Mercs to sound as left field as the others. Discipline and Professionalism its common since. That is all I'll say on this topic, so if your waiting for me to respond well sorry cause this could go on forever. Mindtracker there is no bashing,. If you can't handle it then what are you like in the field? Its an open forum right. I'll be out for awhile so I wouln't get to see your BASHING remarks, but make' em good so when I get back I have something good to read. Good hunting to all who are hunters and those who wish to hunt as well.

I never implied that you would barkinshark, it was just a statement on my part as to my demeanor. Military discipline is something that I feel could be a deciding factor on who can cut the mustard, or "hang" with situations that most people have nor ever will endure out in the civilian world.

barkinshark -

In your last posted you asked how would being a sniper quailify you for to do BEA work......

Well going through BUD class 341 I am sure you learned a thing or two about being a sniper. Being a sniper requires more patience and disipline then many will ever know.

It is alot like BEA work in that you have to do your recon work (i.e) finding your target, the surveillance aspect waiting for the right shot which could take many hours, and then the big shot... with the full rush.

This is where some people fall apart. When the rush comes you have to know how to control it. This is where all of that military training comes in very handy!

I am all for the MILITARY, MARTIAL ARTS, and anything else that will teach discipline, patience, team work, and self-respect!

If you would not mind sharing could you please let us know what you look for in qualified applicants for your team. As there may be something that we are overlooking.

Sounds like someone was having a bad day. We and the other bondsmen we work with are constantly getting calls from unqualified people who want to get into BE. Or they have taken the class and now think they know everything and are ready to start busting doors and arresting people. Or they think that just because they have military or LE or martial arts they are automatically qualified.

Now, before you start in on me, I will state up front that we DO look at these people first. We DO look at those backgrounds as being very beneficial. It DOES make those people more qualified in many ways. However, it does NOT automatically qualify them for this work or make them good Bail Enforcement Agents.

Right now our profession seems very exciting due to hollywood and the media. Many people base their decision to do this from what they see and read. They are very gung-ho and excited about doing what we do. They know how to shoot and they know how to fight and they are ready to put those skills to use. That's all they think this is. They don't see the weeks of no pay, the long hours of stake-outs, the insults, threats, and uncooperative people we have to deal with and can do nothing about. Once the excitement wears off with day-to-day reality, many drop out because this isn't what they thought it was and/or thought they wanted.

Maybe barninshark came on a little strong, but I can share his frustrations at being bothered by every person that sees Dog and thinks that's what we do. Maybe I'm misinterpreting what he was saying, but that's what I got from it.

Thanks for the response elite. The example of the sniper is the same point I was making about the bagboy, almost all jobs can relate. People are getting way off track about the core subject. It was about using professionalism when seeking employment. Do you higher the person who approaches you and gives their services and what they have to offer in a professional manner, or the person who tells you about how sneaky and combat efficient they are. So yes almost all prior jobs can relate. The subj. is don't you think there is a better way to put it down when seeking employment? Your right kebcpa, maybe I did come off to strong. Its just people started to vear off the focus point. There are to many rambos in the business already and we have to be careful these days.

Yes there are way to many Rambos in this line of work. And to stay on your original post: I would not accept anyone that had this attitude even if they did own thier own Dojo or were former military. Your point is well taken.... for me anyways and agreed upon.

Tinker-bell was not directed at you sir, if that is how you took it i apologize i was just using as a comparison to someone with military experience. As many have said we tend to look at this experience but as Kathy stated it does not automatically get you employment as far as that being a licensed BEA doesn't give you absolute employment as there are licensed people who should not be. Enjoy your out of town trip.
