In the past, I have attended festivals etc. where people have left advertisements on the windshield of my vehicle. I was wondering what the legalities are for doing this. It would be a great way to advertise when there are large gatherings for certain events numerous times in the year. I kind of figured that doing this would be tampering with private property. Has anyone dealt with this kind of thing? Would I need to contact the city code enforcement dept maybe? Any info would be appreciated.

Check your local laws..some places don't allow any form of solictitation at a public event..especially if there are sponsors that paid to have their ads seen...

I have been considering placing a small bail bonds flyer on the windshields of vehicles parked near a large roudy Texas style bar (Saddleridge) which we have here in the Tidewater area of VA. On Friday and Saturday nights there are up to 500 or more vehicles in the parking lot I have recently bonded several folks out who were stopped after leaving the bar at closing.
I asked a local police officer if there was a violation against placing these flyers on vehicles in the parking lot and he said it was no problem, people do it all the time in this community.
Saddleridge is within a commercial shopping area and as such does not have exclusive use of the parking lot which might make a difference.
I would agree, it is important to research your local laws..they vary so much from community to community.
I am working on developing 2 x 8 inch strip of advertising, which will have some helpful information and phone numbers on it which I can place under the windshield wiper. Hoping some will tuck it into their glove compartment instead of tossing it. I guess it will be an exercise in marketing..one way or another. If it works I can do the same with special events. It it turns out to be a waste of time, I will move on to other ideas.
New bond agents really have to work to get our names out in the community. Can't sit around and expect the phone to ring otherwise.

Jennifer I think that your idea is perfect for the bar parking lot

Can people smoke in that bar? If so, ask the owner if you can give them matches to put out at the tables.

1,000 books will cost a hundred bucks or so. That way the patrons will take them and use them 20 or 30 times. Each time they light up they will see your name.
