Well, the fact they still refer to people in this industry as 'bounty hunters' is probably part of the problem. It brings up the image of untrained cowboys who run around with guns and pretend to play cops. Like our good friend, Dog, except no guns in his case.

The truth is, we have a harder time than any, mainly because we are not LE. We have to provide for our own equipment, pay for our own training and deal with the restrictions that private citizens have, yet despite this we provide a valuable service that allows the local law to pursue active criminals rather than the people they have already caught once and skipped their court dates.
