Oh well. I'll just have to stick to my daily workout routine. Jog 40 yards to the mailbox, wait for the mail to come, and have the driver give me a ride back to the house!

I carry a Taurus Millennium PT145 concealed in SOB.
I also carry a Springfield XD40 Sub Compact as tactical side arm on chest rig or leg holster.
I was raised on Sig's in the Military but to love the two weapons i carry now.
Bottom line with all the times i have used a 9mm in tactical situation is that they have never done the job as quick as needed.
When i was in the Military and changed over to a 45 cal i swore i would never change back but when i got a hold of the XD40 it changed the way i look at 40cal weapons.
I also use a H&K MP5-K as its just a complete weapon in my opinion and saved my life many a time.

Thanks

Dominic

I am glad that you like the little .40 XD subcompact... for some reason, I get a little grief at the range when I pull the Springfield... not sure why but all the Sig and Glock guys seem to think I have a cap gun or something when I shoot... I love the little .40 and sometimes I take one of my other auto's... the Beretta "Cougar"... a discontinued model in .40 that is a bit larger but also very reliable... IMHO...

After just finishing a re-read on my last post I realize that I may have missed making my point, in my earlier post. I will attempt to clear it up with a shorter post. I will then go back and read the posts that followed, to respond and/or answer those, if there is a need.

A few of the previous posts brought to mind a few points that I felt needed to be made. I, in no way, intented to "toot my horn" or "step on toes". I only intended to state that for every person in this line of work there is a different way of doing things, items (tools) that are prefered, and mentality that is taken into the field. Mine is different than the others that had posted (and that was the intended point). The accomplishments that I listed are not and were not meant to be a challenge or a pat on the back. They were to show that what I lack in experience, I make up for in tactics....however, please believe, my "best friend with quick feet and hands" mentality has irritated more than one person that I have worked with. This is what works for me but those with extensive LE and/or Recovery experience do not seem to appreciate it. It is just another tool in my arsenal, though....and that was my intended point. I just wanted to show that there are many answers to the same question (most of the time).

... as usual, you have explained your position quite eloquently... and as for what I say, please read the disclaimer in my sig.... which should explain most everything I say on this website....

and in closing I would only say....

"diversity is the mother of confusion and the answer to complicated questions that cannot be answered with simple facts unless related to questions pertaining to unsolved mysteries of the mind and matter of fact problems that go unanswered through the course of time and space, continuum... unless of course you understand what is meant by the previous statement in which case you are even more confused than you would have been had you not read this long sentence."

Certainly not... no copy rights here... take what you need....

BTW... are any of you guys aware of the following website related to guns...

http://www.gundirectory.com/

here's a nice little something for target practice at $1700
Image
A nice Colt M-4

here' a little something you can have for a mere $8000

Image
this is a Barrett M82A1/M107 .50 cal. would make a great long range varmint rifle...

Personally, I have no need for such but they are interesting in the scheme of our current discussion...

ANYone else remember when we didn't have to carry a weapon at all? IKNOW I AM OLD :) :)

the most you would get is a runner, We didn't go in pairs or more, just me.

you might get in a fistfight, no matter you came home alive,

And no one say that must of been in the stone age

You are right Dave and most of mine still go the same way. I don't run as fast as Snow Wolf, my fastest time in College was a 4.9 40 in full pads, and I was the fastest white guy on the team. The fastest was a 4.5 but I digress. I ain't chasing anyone anymore, just too damn old, my joints creek and crackle and dang it all, I just don't heal as fast as I used to :)

Mr. Maclean,
Thats what you have son's for :D

That M-4 is a pretty good likeness to what is being carried by our troops. It is a small picture but it looks very simular to those that I see.
