I agree with Ruffin on your options ..... except ..... the military is feeling the same pangs as everyone else. I just received an e-mail from DOD that states that the US Military is over manned by nearly 300,000 troops and is in need of down sizing. The Georgia National Guard, alone, is over manned by 10,000 soldiers. The only open MOS (for non-prior service) is Infantry, at this time. I say this to say, Military may not be the way to go at this time.

Self Cert. is a very good option. Personally, I had to come up with $3,700, a few years back when I went. I could have used most any State Grant or Scholorship (HOPE, PELL, GI, ect.) to attend but decided to leave those for future use. The only diference is, now, I show completion but did not recieve Mandate Certification. I can only get that if I ever go to work for a department (and I would have to update my certification with the required hours and courses).

I feel that you should now have a good idea of direction. Hope all of these posts have helped.

You always need to look for "practical" applications. Also, practice until you're blue in the face. You need to develop muscle memory for effectiveness. Check this link out, this stuff is battle tested, so you know it has to be good. http://www.defendo.com

I took a close look at that site... it is very interesting... and the catch phrase is "keep it simple" which I have always attempted to subscribe to..............
