IL is not a commercial bail state. Fugitive recovery is not allowed there. Please feel free to read all of the excellent posts on this forum. You will find a great many of your questions answered from various perspectives.

Welcome to the board.

One option would be to move to a non communistic state. The second option would be to either run for the legislature, lobby the legislature, or, probably more suited for the PRIL politics, bribe the legislature into bringing back commercial bail. If you can get that done, I will hire, mentor and train you myself.

Dont hold your breath though. I doubt the PRIL will ever make any positive changes. Its a lost cause.

Good luck and welcome to the board.

Andy, I had read a RUMOR a couple of years back that Southern Illinois was considering Commercial Bail. But I can't remember where I saw it. Guess that I am going to have to do some digging (will add that my list of things to get done) Quite frankly I think that Illinois is a lost cause, too absorbed in Chicago style politics and the wailings of the 'feel good' citizens.
Yep, Charles, welcome to the Jungle baby.

Juat a FYI,

One of our surety companies is actively pushing to have commerical bail reinstated in Illinois and the 3 other non bail states.

In the meantime, if you reallllllly want to work in bail, move!

BTW, you have to be a resident in California 2 years before you can get a bail agent license. However,m there is no time requirement for recovery work.
