The holiday season is supposed to bring joy and happiness to all, especially those we care about.

But sometimes in the midst of the holiday hustle & bustle, we miss some things. Sometimes we aren't as merry as others, and that gets overlooked.

Please, if someone you know is not being the person that they generally are, or seems to need extra attention, make sure to reach out to them. Take the extra step and ask if they are ok.

MY friend, Kevin Hunter, a 29 year old young man, took his life yesterday evening. I wasn't even aware there was a problem, but apparently others were.

Please pay attention to those around you. You may save a life.

My condolences, Marshall. The holiday season is notorious for depression and suicides. Many times there is no warning, so I agree that you should take extra time to notice any different actions or mood swings in people. There is no shame in admitting you have a problem or in taking medications or seeking counsel to assist you.

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. I know the feeling. Years ago, a good fushing buddy of mine took his life. I never noticed anything different about him. For a long time I kept asking myself if their were signs that I missed. To this day I still don't know. Again, I'm very sorry and my prayers go out to you and his family.

How many times have we thought to ourselves " if we could only turn back the clock one second, one minute or one day" then what a difference that would make exponentially.
We go about our life immune to the tragedy's of others, anesthetized by the daily barrage of death and disaster on the tube. Yet, we are probably at the pinnacle of dealing with others at the apex of their problems.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear friend. Thank you for the reminder, to take a closer look around and ask what we can do for others. Use a little of the "pay it forward" idealism and perhaps we could make the start of a better world.

Really sorry for your lose Marshall... As pointed out by others... we need to be much more aware of the signs of distress in our friends and family... often times the signs go unnoticed and we get so rapped up in our own little life that we miss something that may have provided us with an answer to anothers problems.

Sometimes my constant line of humor keeps me above the levels of distress suffered by others around me... I also need to me more aware and maybe I could help lower the level of distress that leads to these unfortunate occurrences...

My thoughts and prayers are with you Marshall.

My condolences as well Mr. Marshall.

Although most problems are solvable..usually financial or relationships....when they hit us full force they seem overwhelmingly impossible to resolve. So as has already been pointed out, sometimes people will mention issues in casual manner....we miss it...then tragedy occurs. So there is a true art in LISTENING....not just hearing.

It is times like these when you realize what an extended family you all have become to me.

Again, thank you.
