Again,
What were the charges you were convicted of? It will make a difference.
If you are actually a CA licensed security guard, you have completed a background check that would have exposed any felonies. If this was when you were a juvenile, then they may not matter.

Not having all the pertinent information regarding your situation; I am only surmising the following:
If you just renewed your guard card this year, that would indicate that you originally received it more than 2 years ago (as guard cards are valid for two years). Since your original application was prior to your criminal conviction (2007), and the renewal process does not require a new background check, BSIS is probaly not aware of your conviction. That may be a two edged sword for you. If you report the conviction to BSIS, as required by state law, they may revoke your guard card per California Penal Code. If you do not report the conviction, you are also in violation of the Penal Code. Either way, it may cost you your job.

OK,
Maybe I'm missing something here. You state that you have never been in trouble with the law as an "adult." Yet this happen just last year and you have a guard card that you got at least 2 years ago.
The numbers don't add up. You have be over 18 to get and maintain a guard card.
What are we missing here?
You do realize when it comes to being charged with a crime in CA, if you are over 18, you are considered an adult.
Also, to add to what Randy stated, if your employer knows you have a conviction and continues to employ you, they can get fined BIG TIME!

I AM 24 NOW. IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS 23. NOW IF I GET THIS REDUCED TO A MISDEMEANOR, SINCE THE OFFENSE IS CONDISERED A WOBBLER BY STATE LAW AND CAN BE REDUCED, I SHOULD BE OKAY RIGHT?

You should be discussing this PRIVATELY with your attorney....not OPENLY on a public website where everyone, including California leo's, judges, Da's, BSIS personnel, and other industry professionals are reading, monitoring, and possibly reporting you.
Please check out the FAQ thread, then go to Industry vocabulary....learn the definition of the acronym "Comsec"....it applies here.

I believe he is just saying that there is little to no security provided, here, that protects claims and comments ...."So be careful". I may be wrong, but thats my guess.
