Thanks to everyone and your help. I received a few sample contracts and it is helping me put my own together.

Thanks Again!

Thanks Kathy. LuVonda called me the other night and told me to get my butt over here...

Another note on the recovery contract; there is an excellent one in a book I read from a guy in California.

He is probably talking about "Modern Bounty Hunting" by Mr. Rex Venator, I have read this book and consider it an invaluable resource.

Dave it is an awesome tool along with "Desktop Bounty Hunter" anf the DVDs.
My SISTA gave me my "little man in the box" (inside joke ~ they, Rex & Kathy kept it such a secret) as a beautiful SISTA gift last year.
AND, if you can somehow find a copy of Lance's book . . . he gifted a few of us with a copy of his "last" one just before he crossed over. . . I know that there are others (books/dvd) out there, I just do not know what they are . . . anybody else got some great reading material ideas?

OH YEAH . . . The FRN Forums

Washington State requires a Department of Licensing-provided contract that the bond company must provide and the agent must have available while working any recovery case. It's quite basic and while it doesn't address any compensation or liability issues it is more so used to identify the request to the recovery agent to seek out and apprehend the defendant. The contract can be viewed here in PDF form: http://dol.wa.gov/forms/692011.pdf

Yes, I was referring to Rex's book, it's been an excellent reference source!

Contracts are great, however if your not willing to take the bondsman to court to collect it won't do you much good. I work with several that I trust, and a few that I don't. And I have been burned more than once, haveing to fly across county to collect.
