I did not know that it actually had a descriptive (Compartment Syndrome),
I do know that it is something that you do not want to pass off as gas or terrible stomach cramps and then wind up expired. Some scary stuff people!
Derek I assure you, will not make that same mistake any time soon.

Compartment Syndrome is more associated with crush injuries with prolonged muscle tension, i.e. someone trapped under a car for a prolonged amount of time and when the pressure is released from the muscle the waste products in blood like lactic acid (the stuff that makes you sore after you work out) and others are released into the blood stream and causes toxicity and possibly sepsis and very well may result in death if not counteracted by drugs immediately. Compartment syndrome is not really relevant in your sons situation because it was more of repetitive damage to muscle fibers, compartment syndrome is basically the extreme version of Rhabdomyolysis in traumatic injuries.

Sorta figured that . . .
but appreciate the taking of your time to post your findings.
From what I have read on the topic it was originally found in thoses suffering from injuries in WWII.
All I know is that it is scary and take a life . . . and that it can be reversed and damages lessened if caught in time.
OH . . .
If no one has mentioned it yet . . . Welcome to the forum
