I appreciate everyone's input, but, to be honest with you I thought any individual that's not a Federal Officer or some way in Law Enforcement would have a heck of a hard time transporting any weapons on a plane, expecially after 9/11. You learn something new everyday.

Only LE can CARRY a weapon on a plane with them. But, others can transport them in locked luggage as long as they follow the rules and do the proper paperwork. You also still have to comply with the laws of the state you are flying out of and into. ie, just because you can transport your weapons does not mean that you can possess them in a state that does not allow such.

Flying with a weapon in your baggage is no big deal. Just need a hard sided, locked gun case. Check in is simple. Ammo in your regular baggage in the original manufactures box or a hard plastic reloading box.
I do it several times a year. No biggie.

I have met both men, brieftly.
Padilla does come off as cocky, arrogant, etc. But from what I have heard from other bail agents in our area, he gets the job done!
The show is so much better produced than that other guy from, where was he from again? You know that guy with the long hair and very attractive wife.
Geez, I forgot their names already! Must be getting old!

I spoke about Padilla and Dick in another post. These are the same feelings I have, now that I have seen the show, however Mr. Padilla is the first modern day bounty hunter I ever heard of. If it wasn't for hearing of him then researching, reading about, and watching everything I could about him then I probably wouldn't be here, now. Over three years ago was the first time I heard of him. Now, I have probably read 6-7 books about him or containing something of him, read 100+ articles on him, and seen no less than 10 shows where he is at the least interviewed. So, though we have never met, I have to give credit to Padilla for my getting started in Bail Recovery....and he is one of the best, ever, if not the best.

Andy, have you ever flown into or out of New York, with a weapon, from what I hear it can be problematic?
