Go to the law directory listed in the site links up above and look up colorado, although it might be better to ask some1 in that area that is working it corrently, such as Kathy, and others here.

Good luck with everything tho, wish you the best.

Different states have different laws. Rick was correct in directing you to the state's requirement's. I am pretty sure that Colorado, like most states, has a residency requirement for thier licensing. Since you are a foreigner, I suspect this may be an issue.

You might be able to do field work...interviewing, researching, phone calls, etc to help locate a skip (Office work) but as far as performing actual arrests or carrying weapons I don't think that's going to be possible unless you come here on a work visa, sponsored by a local company in Colorado, and you meet all of the ICE regulations.

That's out of my ballpark.

Scuffster, I do have contacts in the Denver area, so can put you in touch with them when you get here.

Colorado has no residency requirement (that I can find) or licensing requirements for bail enforcement. You have to take and pass a 16 hour P.O.S.T. certified course and submit fingerprints to the CO Bureau of Investigation for verification that you have not been convicted of a felony in the state or in the U.S. for at least 15 years. Since you will be coming from another country, there may have to be an international search done as well, but there is no provision in the statute for this.

In the meantime, read everything on the forums. Buy and read other study materials from reputable authors. Read the BEA FAQ's for suggestions on where to look for materials and other information relative to the field.

Don't feel left out LuVonda. I own 75 acres in IZZARD County in the mountains up by Calico Rock. We use to camp there all the time when i was a GA in Louisiana now only make it once a year. One acre of the property was an old grave site from back in the 1700's as we go and look at the old grave markers. This is all unimproved land.

They all want to be near me  .

For me it is the mountains and lack of humidity. And lots of fish and wild game if I ever had to "live off the land."
