well before I toss my 2 cents worth, I'd like some clarification:

Which industry are you referring to : Bail Agent, Fugitive Recovery, or Private Investigator ?

Since I do not deal with hiring Bail Agents (people who write the bonds), I cannot speak on them.

However, I cannot tell you how many people have asked me to train them in recovery. Especially since our nemesis has achieved such infamy on national tv and press.

I screen alot of "wanna-be's" out by asking for thier CCWP's. If they they don't have one, I advise them since my state has no background check requirements for BEA's, that they need to get one prior to my training them. This in effect, forces them to go through a background check through the Sheriff's Dpt.

If they make an issue out of it, or refuse to do this, then I refuse to train them.

1 thing I watch for are Adrenaline Junkies. They are total liabilities.

Regarding firing them, since they are independent contractors and not employees, I simply quit calling them.

People who submit resumes highlighting fighting belts, marksmanship skills, etc etc I stay away from. I prefer older, seasoned personnel with at least 2 yrs of post high school education-college, trade skill, military, whatever. I also prefer personnel who are prior leo's, again whether military, local, jailers, etc.

Yes I was referring to bail enforcement. Thank you for the quick reply. This forum has been very informative for me.
