Scott,

I have experienced that before. I initiate a BEA investigation only to be pulled over by 2 or 3 undercover cars in an out of the way place away from the target area and asked for my id, credentials and what exactly my interest in John Doe is.

The way that 1 turned out is they allowed me to continue because it was to thier advantage. I could gain entry into the subject's house, thus giving them a reason to come in behind me a few minutes later under the guise of responding to a disturbance call, etc.

I was watching a house one time for a guy we were short on time with. And it was a sizeable bond. Had a guy scare the hell out of me. Walked up to the car and tapped on the window. He identified himself as a LEO and asked if I would pull down the street to a convenience store. He wanted to know what I was doing. Already knew who I was. I told him and he said they were working a sting on not only the guy I was after, but a couple others in the duplex I was watching.

They asked us to stand down and promised they would bring him in within the week. Assured us that they had people all around him and if it looked like it was going bad, he would go down on the FTA warrant for sure. I was reluctant to do that, since I had cash on the line, alot of it, and they had nothing. But did and they held true to their word. A few days later a detective called and said I could come get a body receipt for the guy.

Made me nervous though...
