CRIMES CODE OFFENSES

"908.1 (a)(1) Use or possession of electric or electronic incapacitation device (no intent to commit felony) M1 5 1 "


"(e) Exceptions.--Nothing in this section shall prohibit the
12 possession or use by, or the sale or furnishing of any electric
13 or electronic incapacitation device to, a law enforcement
14 agency, peace officer, employee of a correctional institution,
15 county jail or prison or detention center, the National Guard or
16 reserves or a member of the National Guard or reserves for use"

Looks like they just made sure that the folks that can possess these tools are the very ones that abuse them . . . go figure :shock:

I wish they had made a provision for BEA's to qualify with certain training, screening and regulations, as a LEO this law won't affect me but it will affect the BEA's I often work with, this law took me by surprise, I just found out about it yesterday.

Does it effect LEO's off duty working as BEA's and not LE?????

Good question, I'm not sure, as an elected LEO I determine what hours I work, so if I happen to be assisting some BEA's with an apprehension then I'm on duty.
