Ok..Please allow me to clarify some points here:
Bob has his own company:
www.frtf.net:
Thus, just like any other business it is his right and obligation to seek out contracts wherever possible. Now having said this, I too have my own company:
www.SSBEA.com
So I too seek out contracts wherever possible. This is all part of the free enterprise system.
Now, what many of you may not know is that Bob and I are friends, and I am actually a contractor to him in the event he has anything in my territory.
We have spent many many hours on the phone with each other discussing all manner of things: laws, training, tactics, networking, marketing ideas, etc etc. I have a great deal of respect for what Bob and other former FRTF contractors have gone through this past year.
I regret that this thread went in a negative direction. However, to answer the original question, Bob and I have been saying the same thing, only expressing it differently. The only point that I am making is that a free lance BEA, such as myself CAN effect a lawful apprehension in Fl. PROVIDED the out of state bondsman declares me as thier legal agent in the performance of my duties. That is what I was trying to explain the letter of appointment is for. It does legally state that I am the lawful agent of that bonding company in the state where the bond was written.
So in answer to Bob's question Was I or am I a legal Bail Bond Agent when I go into Fl ? The answer is yes.
I carry copies of all of my training certificates, and licenses as evidence that I am "qualified, licensed, and trained..." pursuant to Fl. law.
I hope this clears this up for any who were confused.
As for the old FRTF and its former leader, there are still alot of hard feelings out here due to lost contracts, jobs, broken promises, monies paid to frtf that still have not been refunded and past wages still owed to most of us who were signed up with him.
For these people (as well as myself-they still owe me $1,800.00), the issue lies with the Barber estate.
The old FRTF was listed as FRTF LLC of Delaware; The new FRTF is listed as FRTF INC of Arkansas. 2 totally different companies legally speaking. The current FRTF has no obligation to the old FRTF debts and liabilities.
So what needs to happen is any former or current FRTF contractors who have outstanding invoices with the old FRTF should probably come together and file a class action law suit against the Barber estate and or Joyce Barber.
I hope this helps to clear this matter up.
Take care and God Bless,
Ruffin.
