This past Sunday I had the opportunity to partake in an Intro to IDPA style shooting . . . We had a guest come to our monthly The Well Armed Woman meeting to give us Ladies a little intro. What a blast ! I mean seriously some 'fun' shooting. Way different than just shooting at targets and bowling pins and balloons. I think that Speezack has spoken to IDPA shooting here as well. I was 25 minutes late (due to work) to the meeting so missed out on most of the shooting . . . but the guy was awesome and let me shoot thru twice ! Then we had an hour of classroom stuff. The Ladies discussed it and come next Spring we are going as a Group to a Match . . . . of course as it will be our first we will all be classed as . . . "Unclassified" . . . til after the Match that is ;)

I have attached a photo . . . you can see . . . I got my guy . . . . right in the minus zero zone :)

Tho it hard to tell (from this angle) the "target" is set back and behind the "cover" . . . . I am looking forward to doing MORE of this style of shooting . . .Oh Yeahhhhhh

File comment: look at the target to the right . . . the one on the left was the "cover"

IDPA is one of the best defensive pistol shooting organizations I have had the privilege of being associated with...
My buddie... the Marine... has an entire course in his backyard and we go to the shoots/meets in Carolina and Va... during the season.

I highly recommend them... here is their site... check it out.

I also think you should move this to the public area for all to see....

IDPA started in 1996 right here in Arkansas (Berryville). I am definitely going to put some more time into it.
Started this in the Private Section . . . but, I agree in moving it to the Public Section . . . I think that anyone that shoots regularly, or is only getting into shooting, should take the time and go do one of these.
Of course this was an 'impromptu stage' . . . however you can go to their website (which Speezack has provided a link to) and check out the different stages and put something together of your own.
Make PRACTICE fun !
