Just curious about those that do carry and what they carry for their line of work?
Personally (once i finish the training) ill be carrying the Bersa thunder .45 as well as the Bersa thunder .380.
For my shotgun I have a Mossberg 500 Special Purpose Persuader.

Do you guys have any special set-up or fancy holster you use for work?

This topic has been discussed many times and there are many threads already started in regards to guns and gear used for the profession..

But it all depends on the pick-up for me .. But I always carry a Sig P226 9mm (24 hours a day 7 Days a Week).

If its a "high risk" pick up I am going on, then it can range from a Shotgun .. to an AR-15.. or it could be just a Taser.. it all depends on how many people are going on the pick up with me and what the fugitive is wanted for, and also not to rule out his / her past criminal history...

Here is the best advice I can give you...

The only bad choice in a carry firearm... is the one you don't have with you when needed....

... without specifics... whatever floats your boat... guns are like cars and women.... carry what you like and what feels good.... there is no right answer here.... and your gonna get a thousand different answers, none of which may be right for you..... like shoes... try them on...

... practice and practice with whatever you choose.

... and that is just as good as a thousand others... "common sense" top of the list, always....

I carry a Ruger LC9... IWB... I have a smaller LCP .380 tucked in the center console of my GMC Acadia, both these have a lazer sight attached. I also have a Taurus Millennium Pro .45 that I sometimes also carry IWB... and a few Berettas... a few XDs.... a Springfield.... maybe a couple of Colts.... here and there... 8)

I personally think a long gun (of which I also have way too many, totally un needed  )... in terms of a shotgun, AR or whatever.... is a bit much and frankly not needed, if you honestly feel you need that much firepower... you probably need to put someone above your pay-grade on the case.... ie: LE SWAT...

Way tooooo many people in this industry, for some unknown reason, want to believe that they are Bruce Willis and hold themselves to a much higher level of competency than they really are....

As C. Eastwood said .... "a mans' got to know his limitations".... my opinion here is basically....

"OVER ESTIMATING YOURSELF IS JUST AS HARMFUL AS UNDERESTIMATING YOUR ADVERSARY"

There are several less lethal types of ammo i want for my shotgun, net shot, rubber buckshot, pepper slug. In VA you can use pretty much anything as long as you are certified with it, with the acception of a "Security rifle" as they worded it.

Dingir,

Read the 'introduction' section and post something about yourself.... add a sig line, etc.... ie: background, training, who you are hooked up with... exactly what you are aiming toward as far as career paths... etc.... give us some info on yourself...
