I'm wondering what the Taylor Law says about the release of information to Fugitive Recovery Agents by Federal Departments like the Tennessee Buraeu of Investigation. I called them and asked them about the lst know location of a fugitive and they said they were not allowed to release said information.

First, we would appreciate a signature line so that we know who we are talking to.

Secondly, it is very apparent that Joe Stiles is no longer the education chair for the TAPBA.

Were Mr. Stiles still in that position you would know that there is no Taylor law. What you are referring to is a Supreme Court opinion, Taylor v. Taintor. You should Google it and read the entire opinion so that you are well versed. Law enforcement is under no obligation to share information with you, you are not law enforcement. As an investigator, you are to do just that and develop your own information. Lastly, the TN Bureau of Investigation is a State Agency, not Federal, as you stated.

Please do not take offense, but understand that you lack training and a complete understanding of this business. May I suggest that A) Take Scott Harrell's class on www.beabountyhunter.com and B) Get an experienced mentor, offer to work for free until you have a grasp of this industry. I am suggesting this with your freedom in mind, because if you do not follow this path, you will be in jail and your target wont.

Scott

Very well stated Mr. MacLean.

Advice is only beneficial if used by the one receiving it.
