Actor Christopher McDonald, 58, was stopped by North Carolina Highway Patrol officers in Wilmington for driving while intoxicated on Wednesday morning.
During the course of the investigation, the trooper determined that McDonald was intoxicated.
According to Sgt. Parks, with NC Highway Patrol, a trooper came into contact with Christopher McDonald near Third St. in Wilmington.
McDonald, was handcuffed and taken to the New Hanover County jail after being found with a blood-alcohol level of .15, nearly twice the legal limit, according to local reports.
According to jail records, McDonald was charged with DWI by NC Highway Patrol. He was booked around 4:30 a.m. He was released on $1,000 bail, according to local reports, leaving the facility at 7:20am.
Christopher McDonald, has acted in 85 films and numerous television and theater productions. His most memorable role was probably that of Shooter McGavin from the Adam Sandler film “Happy Gilmore.”
The actor, who now faces a Dec. 11 court date, is said to be in North Carolina filming a new movie titled “The Squeeze.”
