WHAT WE CALL OURSELVES

Different jurisdictions require different attire and names period--here in nh i wear jeans(blue or black) and a polo shirt with our logo embroided on the upper left chest and fugitive recovery agent in reflective lettering on the back and a nypd style badge with bail enforcement agent plainly said and our number in the bottom panel--this badge will get you arrested in ny for impersonating an officer--also the wording on our shirts will get us arrest in other states because it does not comply with their requirement ie conn--wearing swat type uniforms here in nh is not illegal but most cops will call you an idiot(i have had pds call me and tell me about it and comment about these people)--our id is better made than most pds(again told to me by many officers) our badge style is not used in our area of operation our logo is not used in our area of operation--we do not wear utility belts with all the goodies showing-our handguns are in holsters on our belts covered by our shirts our oc is in our pockets our batons are in our pockets--that is how we practice

You are correct most states open carry is illegal except for certain things like target hunting and employment

In nh, me , vt open carry is legal--as said before vt has no ccw restrictions except felons anybody and everybody except felons can carry concealed--me and nh the ccw permit is easy to get--in mass ccw hard to get--as a retired cop i carry in mass but is is a royal pain every time i get pulled over(I have a nypd foot made out of lead)

Colorado has no restrictions as to open carry unless you are a felon or on probation or otherwise not allowed to be in possession of a weapon. There are places that you cannot legally carry whether open or concealed, and you can't have one while you are imbibing alcohol. The City and County of Denver allow CCW concealed carry, but you can't carry open. This after they sued the state and lost over being forced to allow the newest statewide CCW carry law to overrule their restrictive one. That is about it.

Also, it is only considered concealed if it is concealed on your person. You can conceal in your vehicle, place of business or home without breaking the law.

My sincerest apologies if I offended you in any way. That never has been, nor will it ever be my intention.

Unfortunately, often times my delivery is less than diplomatic, as I have a tendency to be blunt.

Regarding attire, our work is much like that of show business. We are mere actors upon the world's stage performing a difficult and potentially lethal task. A task, mind you, that requires a variety of skills and costumes, and never suffers fools. Everything from pizza delivery, construction, fast food, survey takers, meter readers, newspaper delivery persons, etc. Choosing one's "costume" much depends on your skips vocations, daily routines, and his/her environments.

Additionally, not every entry is a "forced one", nor is every apprehension a "High risk" one, therefore negating the appearance and use of all of the "I.D. " rags and compliance tools available to us in our industry's arsenal.

Granted, there are times when employing a "SWAT" team of BEA's, all decked out in BP vests, utility belts, etc is needed, but not every single time we go out.

I know of professional BEA's, 1 of whom is a member of this forum and is an industry leader/instructor, who performs high risk apprehensions almost on a daily basis of ms-13 gang members in the D.C. area unarmed. Because firearms are prohibited by civilians in that area.

Like I have said before, if, as a BEA, anyone of us relies solely on our firearms to coerce compliance in our targets, than we need training in unarmed compliance techniques.

Vermont allows felons to own and carry black powder firearms (pistol and rifle) for hunting purposes. HGUNNER and myself found that out... almost the hard way. I believe its against federal law but no law enforcement entity in Vermont will intervene if a felon has such a firearm as I described.

I guess that we are more strict here in Arkansas. They will not let a convicted Felon even hunt with a Bow, it is considered able to fire a projectile which they are prohibited from possessing. If anyone here gets convicted of Domestic Battery a Class A Misdemeanor they are also prohibited from possessing any of the above mentioned weapons for the rest of their lives period. I have seens individuals arrested years after a Domestic Battery case with a Bow and sent to prison for "Possession of a Firearm or other Weapon by Certain Persons".
