Canada could learn from the bail bond system here in the U.S. A professional surety is far more likely to fulfill their obligations when a defendant breaches bail conditions than a parent, most parents would be very reluctant to turn in their child and see them put in jail, it just goes against the protective instinct of a parent. The times that Ive had a parents help me are when I was able to build a rapport and convince them that apprehension was in the childs best interest.
