Many years ago I created this guide to help myself and others in obtaining a license. Some things have changed since then, but the basics remain the same. I heard that the 80-hour course now costs a whole lot more money and I also heard that the good doctor passed away. I don't know what else has changed over the years, but this should serve as a fairly decent guide to those who are attempting to obtain their licenses.

OBTAINING A NEVADA BAIL ENFORCEMENT AGENT LICENSE

Successfully complete an 80-hour bail enforcement training course. This course is only offered once every six months. You will need the following items to complete this course:
Headphone-type hearing protectors
Safety shooting glasses
Baseball-type hat
Duty Handgun
Belt and holster with retention strap/snap
3 magazines (pistol shooters)
2 speed loaders (revolver shooters)
500 rounds of factory handgun ammunition (no reloads)
Gun cleaning/maintenance equipment
Handcuffs
Shirt or jacket that will close at the neck
21” or 26” ASP extendable, friction-lock baton
The following items are highly recommended, but not required:
Double magazine or speed loader pouch
Police type flashlight
Flashlight belt carrier
Handcuff pouch
2 additional magazines or speed loaders
Water or sodas to drink (outdoor range!)
Food for your meal break
Shooting mat or a large towel
Sun block & rain gear

You may apply for a Temporary Bail Enforcement Agent License if you submit everything except for the 80-hour Bail Enforcement Agent Course Certificate; however, you will need a letter from the bail agent that you will be working for that states that you are directly employed and supervised by that bail agent. The temporary license is only valid for nine months or until you submit your certificate of completion of the 80-hour Bail Enforcement Agent Course, whichever comes first. When you receive your certificate of completion you will need to resubmit your application for your Bail Enforcement Agent License and another application fee of $125.00.

Thanks for the info!

I am currently looking to expand to Nevada and getting licensed out there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can turn in a copy of my Law Enforcement cert and be waived from taking the training course right?

That's a great question, unfortunately, I honestly don't know the answer. You should contact Adam Brooks, he would know. His phone number is (702) 743-8427.
