Wow, Dog the Bounty Hunter making the profession look bad? I am just
shocked I say, just completely and utterly surprised. I am
SHOCKED I say - Arhhhgggghhhhhh! Nooooo, say it ain't so!
That is the biggest bunch of high profile professional embarrassments that our industry has. I would just like to see
one episode in which Beth does not 1) impersonate a police officer, 2) threaten innocent people with consequences she has absolutely no authority to enforce, 3) commit a felony home invasion, 4) act like a spoiled, arrogant, solipsistic, self-aggrandizing, loud, overbearing two year old who thinks everyone, including the stray dog she just kicked, owes her not just a living, but a living
large living and 5) makes our entire industry look like a bunch of overdressed, long haired police officer impersonators and hooligan goons. Having never met or worked a jump with them I can't judge what is in their hearts about their faith or their motives, and I hope that perhaps Beth Chapman is not indicative of
all of the Chapmans, but how they treat third parties while seeking a jumper is, at least in this individual's opinion, an utter and complete insult to the profession and the rule of law in general.
Are these guys really as ridiculous as they come across on their show? About the only sincere moment in any of the episodes is the prayer. After that, I can't buy anything I am seeing. And why hasn't Beth been arrested and charged for impersonating a LEO as well as breaking and entering or home invasion? I have never seen any agent kick in that many doors (and be wrong about the jumper being inside as many times) as this lot does. What happened to knowing beyond a reasonable doubt that the surety is in the house
before kicking the silly door in? And what is up with the badges they wear? Is it "I am not really a legitimate law enforcement officer so I have to look important since I don't have any real authority to pull 90% of the crap I am pulling on innocent parties" or just penis envy? The smaller the ability, the bigger the illegal (in most jurisdictions) 'badge"? Hmmm - I guess for Dog size
does matter.
All we need is
another "reality" show from this bunch - before long they will have inspired every state legislature in the country to emulate Wisconsin and Oregon and put us, and the valuable service we provide to the 95% of our clients who do what they are supposed to do, out of business.
And while we are on the topic anyway, can someone
please do
something - anything - everything - about Dog's hair and what they look like after they "suit up" and get dressed in their Halloween costum,,,err, Bounty Hunter "uniforms"? They look like so many wannabe gay hippie fascist leather ballerina bikers in the Berlin Love Parade.
Sorry guys - end of diatribe. I apologize for my extended rant, and I am sure I am being judgmental and unfair. Am I being unfair about them? What do you guys think?
