If anybody cares, I will be happy to do a Verified Section post, or PMs, and give a detailed account of my individual issues with certain So Cal bail recovery folks. You will see that what actually happened (even if you take into account the "he said, she said" differences of opinion) have nothing to do with the types of things I believe are being said about me.

Tom,
I wasn't aware that these people were talking about you and frankly if it wasn't you it would be someone or something else. You are a member of NABBI and that's good enough for me.
I have read some of their posts and am not impressed, even a little!!
For whatever it's worth, I'm with you Tom!!
Take care

I appreciate it, Bill. Really though, I just need the air cleared. I have taken the "high road' with these folks and gone about my business. Unfortunately, they have not, and have taken to Facebook, and who knows where else, with their opinions, bitches, gripes and complaints. I wouldn't have brought it here at all but Phill's post did that and here we are. (And no, that wasn't a poke at Phill. It just brought this fight into an arena I had hoped to keep it out of but I understand the effect these guys could have on NABBI and the industry as a whole in southern Cal.)

No, Bill. While I again appreciate the sentiment, I have no need to get anything off my chest. I simply need to know that my peers, and my betters here, hear my side of any issue that won't simply go away. Again, I am not trying to publicize anything. There are simply those that won't let it go and it seems to be affecting NABBI among other things.

Now it makes more sense...I don't see how they feel its appropriate to be condescending to an association that's trying to help an industry when they themselves have not taken the time or trouble to join, or run for one of the positions. Good luck, hopefully everyone realizes how much this can help, and set aside petty differences so that the goals can be focused on...

Part of the NABBI creed is to focus on the mission and how to achieve that mission setting aside egos, grudges, likes/dislikes, etc. It appears as though Tom's detractors are incapable of doing these things for the sake of the profession.
To choose to join or not join a professional organization that exists for our profession's very survival simply based on a personal issue is truly, as Scott stated, asinine.
Just my opinion.

Tom et al -
I brought this to the NABBI section because I was unaware of any "controversy" I was hoping that the members here could enlighten me.
I thought that if there was a "real" issue maybe we could resolve it.
However, as I have discovered it is simply a personal issue. That has absolutely nothing to do with NABBI itself.
As many others, who are much more knowledgeable and experienced than myself have already pointed out, if someone wishes to make a change within the association they FIRST need to be a part of the association.
NABBI is open to all involved in the (*industry) profession - the goal of NABBI is to provide acknowledgement, recognition, and improvement in the Bail Bond industry for participants, the general public, and the government.
Nowhere in the the Bylaws, Code of Ethics, or the Mission Statement - does it refer to the preferences of the individual and their personal desires.
[Edited by Phill] - to correctly insert profession instead of industry.

Like I've said many times, I have a hard time communicating on a keyboard. Tom, If you feel you should explain this then explain it. My comments were to let you know I'm with you whatever you do.
The following remark is mine and mine alone. It seems to me these guys are more into talking than getting anything done, therefore nothing they say means anything to me.

Quote: NABBI is open to all involved in the industry .... Phill, tsk tsk tsk....."ahh now you did it, now you gonna get it uh huh..." Wait 'til 'The Weasel' reads this ! It is FORBIDDEN to use the word "Industry" anymore ! We have to use the word "Profession". Punishment: On the next full moon, run around your house at midnight, backward, chanting "I'm not worthy ! I'm not worthy !" 10 times.
