Whaaaat ? No "Jimmy Buffet" impersonators ? ...... :P What, exactly, constitutes "proper attire" ? Y'all are gettin' formal...... Sounds like y'all got a good sized crew headin' for St. Louis. Has anyone notified the local authorities yet ? St. Louis will never be the same.

Maybe Tim can use that big ol 15 passenger van he spoke of earlier and meet you folks that are flying in. Might save some folks some money. I know if this thing was being held here, that's what I'd offer to do. Afterall, it is the only hospitable thing to do. So what do you say Tim ? Can you find a black suit n driver's cap ?... :P

Anyway, hope this thing works out...our industries may very well depend on it.
Take care and God bless.

Tim -

We have already mad it clear that you are more than welcome here! Plus we would love to have you be a part of the development of the National Association.

Besides, all these years of harassing you - I would love to meet you actually in person!

Tim is not the first person to express concerns about who wil be attending the meeting. I have had others express some concerns about "not being welcome", "not liking a particular person", "not thinking that we will be successful", and other excuses for not attending. I can't say that I know everyone personally who will be attending, but I know this... Those who are willing to expend the time and resources to travel, for many, hundreds of miles and spend hundreds of dollars are concerned with bigger things than personalities and egos. They are the ones who will be responsible for building the shelter that others will gather under later. So, for all of those who manufacture excuses, real or imagined, about why you won't be going, I offer this, you can probably find a dozen different reasons why you can't attend, but you only need one to convince you to be there, and that one would be because you believe that what we are trying to do is worthy and deserving of your support. If you don't believe that and your not willing to make the sacrifice for that, then nothing I type here will convince you to be there. For everyone else, known to me or unknown to me, I look forward to seeing you in St. Louis!!!

If anyone feels that they are not welcome because of something I may have said, done or not said, please let me know.

I know several have asked me to "tell" them what I wanted them to do. As I explained before, I am not that type of person to just assign tasks to people. I prefer that everyone choose an area that they have an interest in and do it.

So, if I did not respond to any request and that may have made someone feel unwanted, I apologize.

Also, one very important point to remember, I am not the elected leader of this group. That has not been determined yet. I only volunteered to get the meeting place and date together.

As Joe just stated, the goal of this organization is much bigger than anyone individual among us. If we can't get past that, then we are falling into the same problem that the California Bail Agents Association and the PBUS has. I am sure many other state and local bail associations have similar personality problems.

In my opinion, bail and bail recovery agents are their own worse enemy. We are too thin skinned and stubborn sometimes.

No matter who shows up in St Louis, we all need to leave the past conflicts outside the meeting.

Now for more logistics about the meeting.

I have just talked with the hotel rep. If anyone has booked their rooms and plan on staying over Tuesday night the 20th and were charged a higher room rate, please note that the hotel will reduce that to the group rate of $99.

Next, the group room rate cutoff is tommorrow the 7th at 5:00PM. If you have not made your room reservations by then, the group rate will expire. There are only a few rooms left for Sunday and Monday so, it is time to step up.

Also, please make sure that you register at the NABBI site for the conference. We need everyone paid up before the conference. I can not handle taking payments at the door, UNLESS, you have made prior arrangements with me!

Also also, by pre paying we will have an accurate attendee count and that will insure you have a name badge printed, a place for the meals and a packet of materials.

Everyone should bring plenty of business cards to network with the other attendees. If you have coffee mugs, lanyards, pens, etc, you may hand those out also.

I will be sending out a press release to the local news media. So, we may have a newspaper or tv station show up on Monday.

Will everyone please dress appropriately. Business casual. No tactical gear or doggie look alikes. Jeans are ok and Mel, you may wear your hat!

Sunday night reception starts at 6:30PM and goes to 8:00PM. Finger foods and drinks. Monday and Tuesday we will have lunch togther. Breakfast and dinners are on you. But I am sure some will want to get together as a group for dinner.

Monday and Tuesday mornings the meeting will start at 9:00 AM sharp. If any of the committees have a written report, please email a copy to me and I will make enough copies for all the attendees or put it on a power point to show everyone.

Finally, any questions, please ask so that we can take care of any issues before hand.

Did I forget anything?

Tony,
I will not pour gas on the fire by adding to any bad blood or perpetuating any gossip, but I've never heard or seen anything about you that would lead me to believe that anyone would be alienated by you. With maybe one exception, and to be honest, if he and his crew were to show up and be serious about cooperating and improving the image of our profession, I would even welcome them. I will leave my ego in Knoxville, and I reiterate, "There is not one person who has made this sacrifice that I am not excited about meeting and I am looking forward to this with great expectations."

Last chance!

I placed the food order for the conference. Anyone that has registered but NOT paid for the conference, you must do so by this Friday, March 9th.

After that you will not be guaranteed meals and drinks, as I can not change the attendee count. Sorry, but the hotel has deadlines to meet.

Also, today is the last day of the group room rate. After today it will go up by at least $40 per night, even more for Sunday.

Any attendee planning on eating and drinking with us, must be a paid attendee. We have the meeting room, food and beverage and audio visual costs to cover.

Also if you plan to bring a friend, unless they are a paid attendee, they are not allowed to be at the meal functions.

Finally, I have 3 people that have been in direct contact with me and have made arranegments to pay on site. You all know who you are. If you have not made prior arangements for payment directly with me, you must do so now or I will not count you as attending.

Phill sent you all an email asking for your payment. Please let us your if you are still coming or not!

We would like to see a greater attendance level than those already confirmed. This meeting, especially this organization, will help to change the industry and the way it is perceived in the "Public Eye!"

We need YOU to become involved to assist in the foundation to alter the future!

I have modified the above information and posted in the NABBI News section:
