Bill, It is easy for me, as I only write in One County (once in a while in 1 other). So, I only have 1 Circuit Court to worry over and 4 District Courts. I only write an average of 300 bonds a year and they check in weekly with me.
Since 11Sept00 I have only missed 2 Circuit Courts dates, 1 due to my Fathers Memorial Service and the 2nd due to my CE Class. As for the District Courts, I have a very good rapport with the Chief Clerks
I know immediately if someone does not show up.
The
key is writing tight. Getting that information (even about Great Gramma and Auntie that live 10 States over) and using your GUT. I do not write everything that comes my way. My FTA rate is 1/100th of a percent and my recovery Rate is 99.9 (not my numbers . . . those come from the owner of the company) and is the reason I am the only that Agent in the Company that has Unlimited Powers (since 2003) and the # 2 producer.
They laugh when one of mine FTAs . . . . "why issue the warrant Judge, she is going to have them in custody before 24 hours is up" (Tommy Smith Dep Pros.)
LOL . . . I have called the Judge and asked where that warrant was when I have arrived with my client at the Facility. Yep, got the numbers that I need to take care of my business after normal business hours and those # are very very rarely used.
The more green under their feet . . . the more time it takes to find them.
Quite frankly I have better things to do with my time. When one gets greedy, they get sloppy and when one gets sloppy, they lose their shirt and if they have poor business savvy and prefer sitting on the couch waiting for that Notice . . . then oft times, they lose their business.
No one just starting out should adopt the attitude of "I will just wait til I get the Notice" . . . . They will not be around very long
When folks have been around as long as some of us have . . . The clients (and the street) get to know, that we will come and get their asses and they do as they are supposed to do and take care of their business.
Operating with Honesty and Integrity and time under ones' belt often allows for, that relaxing kickback on the couch.
BTW . . . I never worry after my clients. It takes me 45 mins to an hour to write a bond. I talk A LOT. I think that is why my folks go to Court
they do not want to risk too long of a ride with me. If I am unable to sleep . . . neither is my passenger
AND I really like my comfy chair and crocheting.
