A 5.8 magnitude earthquake centered in Virginia has been felt across the area with people experiencing shaking buildings and slight tremors.

All okay here, just had some broken picture frames that fell of the wall. 301 bridge is closed indefinitely. Traffic is a nightmare.

IT is all good in Montgomery County absent some minor damage, my office is on the tenth floor and the building was shaking like a crackhead. The Beltway 495 and 270 will be backed up for hours.

Felt it in CT... Part of a building facade in downtown Hartford fell.... The computer monitor on my desk moved...so what did I do? I went outside our office to the ice cream truck...

Ok, cell phones out for a while... Kenbridge is about 90 miles south of Mineral, Va... the epi-center... my son Tim is 30 miles south of Mineral.... also... the North Anna Nuclear Power station is 11 miles from the center and 20 miles from Tim... he said pictures and a mirror fell off the wall and he was home alone... ran outside and the he said the ground was actually shaking, trees swayed... it only lasted about 20 seconds... he said it really un-nerved him... Gail was petrified... I was in Blackstone getting the car fixed and while sitting in the waiting room... the walls and building started to move around and sounded like a big truck coming by... I got up and went outside and everyone on main street in Blackstone was standing outside... quite the topic of discussion...
Everyone is fine and I have not found any damage to anything... according to Gail... Lucy and Lucky seemed to know something was happening about 10 minutes before it hit... they got up suddenly and whined to go outside... they went out and would not come back in the house for over 2 hours.... very unusual for them and when I got home they ran to me like I was gonna save them from some unknown terror... they really acted scared... all seem fine now... like I was gonna make it all ok.... Daddy will save us... of course... I would probably be the first to crap in my pants... but I always have on my SWAT.... depends so all would have been fine............
I appreciate the calls from my buddies.... John Marshall, Luke and Dave.... all is fine, thanks for your concern... glad Tony was ok at the airport... as Scott said...the 301 bridge that we went across for the crab smash was closed for the time being and that is the main north south road from that part of Maryland into Virginia... that should be a major problem till opened.
