POSTED FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT ONLY... any resemblance to factual matter... living or dead is purely done on purpose. I really try to keep you people entertained and interested in our business.....

Recently.... for some unknown reason... there seems to have been an influx of new blood in our AO.... so, we are inclined to crank up the advertising a bit and see if we can maintain our business contacts and keep a bit ahead of the............ uh, ........ competition....

There are several knew signs in one of my AO's so.............. as all good competitors should do............ we got on the wagon and are putting up a few of our own................ first.......... take a look at the competitors sign... I won't make a comment... you judge... but I think there is a ............... botox doctor somewhere with a few extra bucks in his wallet............. 8) 8)

Here's the AO... taken from the front door of the jail.... so the signs are less than 100yds. from the jail... all legal... on town property...
Image

The new bondsmen put these up last week....
Image

Here is a closeup of the "BotoxBondingCompany"............... I refer to them as simply............ "LIPS BONDING"... honest to goodness... I initially thought it was an ad for a "gentlemens club".... for real!! but I guess it gets attention and that is what it is all about................. I tried to do it with a bit more............... uh.............. finesse..............
Image

My response initially was....
Image

But then I modernized with this....
Image

complete with my daughter and myself... and my grandson on the left.... we even have solar lights on our sign.... so we can get calls at 3AM.... (Aren't you impressed with my official CIA hat!!) It was not my idea to put "financing available" on the sign but I guess you have to be somewhat flexible... I have commented on my "financing" in a previous thread... I don't like it, but it is a necessary evil.

I think you may finally be able to get a handle on the very rural area that we work... this is in Boydton, Va... a very historical, very small town in southern Virginia...

http://www.boydton.org/history.htm

Just thought you might be interested in a little southern Virginia bond business flavor... we can't compete with uptown California but we do our best................  and it keeps gas in my boat.

LOL! WOW, you are in the Boonies! I can only imagine what the jail looks like!

And that pink ad does look like your going to get a date with her and not a bail bond... HAHAHA! (maybe you get both?)

In all seriousness . . . what is wrong with her lips?
I like both of your signs . . . even if they were not yours I would be saying that.

I would have not paid for this sign or excepted if it was suppose to be done by a professional in business. It looks to be a cheap and bad try at photo transfer. The picture is the first thing you look at.
Bill, Do you think the up swing in bondsman have to do with unemployment our shortened hrs of employment. I have been getting a lot of email resumes and calls from the city police officers looking for extra work.

Solar lights wouldn't work here as it stays gray and gloomy for 5 months of winter(Real Depressing)

I certainly think the economy has something to do with it.... also, there is always the misconception of large sums of money to the uninformed.... not to be misunderstood here... there was a time in this business when you could certainly make a decent living... liability and difficulty in getting started doesn't seem to enter the mix... at least initially... I know just as many that are getting out of the business. Two in particular have left in my AO in the past 3 months and several more are dropping out at years end.

I am retired and the effect of the reduction in bonds doesn't have the same effect on me... my daughter and son are having it a bit rough but they are holding pretty good... we have, thank God, fairly good connections with overall acceptance with LE and the courts... our reputations go a long way in our profession... we taut this on this site all the time... often to no avail.

There will always be the overall draw for this business.... money and excitement... TV provides much hoopla but you and I and the ones that have been around a while.............. know the true facts involved, but it is useless to try and provide that to the folks that want in.......................... I just smile and tell them to "come on"...

The first time a $20K bond goes south.... their bodily orifices begin to tighten and they question their occupational choices.

Those of us that hang tough, maintain our professionalism and are smart... will still be around after the dust settles... if, of course that is our choice.

That's just my take on this scenario.

Thanks dearie... I don't really know about the lips but they do... IMHO cheapen the sign... maybe I am just a bit old fashioned... anyway... if those bondsmen want to make fun of me it's ok... I enjoy the bickering.... keeps me sharp... sort of... and I can take it probably better than most.

BTW... the 'lips' sign was put up on posts that belonged to me!!! yep, I had a sign there in the past, pulled it down a few months ago and before I could get around to pulling up the posts............. you guessed it.... they put their sign on my posts... but it's not worth fussing about. Dawn says I should take a chain saw to the posts and tell them I was just getting my posts back.............. well............ no............ it just isn't worth it to me... just leave it alone.

If it seems the town got all the bail bonds they can get then it will do them good to find other spot where criminals seem to thrive in. Seriously though it's a tough industry and getting bigger so all those advertisements are needed to get more exposure. Agencies compete for <<deleted by moderator>>or to their area but needless to say it's a help to the counties they're serving.

Competition of the signs round one...

I'm guessing on round two Botox Bonds is going to do neon lighting so you should get ready for that one...
