If there is a moral to this story, it could be that we all have be careful about what we get ourselves involved in.
The news articles will call him a "bounty hunter" before they describe him as a PI or bail agent. That will automatically put him and the business in a bad light. So, if something goes wrong, it will be the bounty hunters fault.
Secondly, more and more LE agencies are backing away from offering assistance to bail agents / bounty hunters. At least in some areas. Again due to the negative image and maybe liability concerns.
I am sure the bail bond company will not admit to anything to do with Cobra in this case. Now that there has been a criminal verdict, the "victim" may have ideas about civil actions against him, if it has not already been started.
