Yeah, I've logged a few miles in the Prius with Andy, and I gotta admit... For a little bitty car, the damn thing is pretty comfortable. And Andy's right... I'm not the biggest guy on the team, but I'm not a little feller either. Plus, it's absolutely impossible to argue the gas mileage. We recently drove several hundred miles around the state in a day looking for a skip, and used next to nothing in fuel. Hell, we spent more on food than we did on gas! (Go figure!)

And I can't wait to see what it's like to shoehorn some 300 lb gorilla into the back seat, especially in cuffs and irons! The intrinsic entertainment value will be priceless!

Forgive my digression...

I just watched the clips referenced in the thread. I won't argue the "professionalism" of these folks. They're smooth, organized and seemingly effective, at least in the videos. Obviously well-practiced.

However... "Police" cars, lights, dash cams, tactical uniforms, vehicle pursuits and take-downs, etc, etc, etc. Without a doubt, if someone would raise the issue and hire the right attorney, their "approach" to this business would, in some if not most jurisdictions, land them an impersonation beef in a friggin' heartbeat. The civil and criminal liability in this business is already ridiculous at best, and is exacerbated when practitioners act in a reckless manner. While we are allowed certain power and authority under the law, we are civilians, not cops. As such, we should not portray ourselves as cops.

Remember, perception is everything.

Having said this much, I'm going to be content to sit back and see what comes next...

That was all a joke....I don't have a Yugo and I would have no use for a fleet of Crown Vics.

As far as pulling people over....Not to clear on the law but many people have been "pulled over", blocked in, rolling road blocked, ect...... so long as there is no high speed chase involved I don't believe there is a clear cut or understood guideline. I personally prefer not to put anyone in that sort of danger (expecially myself ) so I would attempt to catch them on foot or on thier butts (at home watching TV or sleeping). I actually used a Ford ZX2 or Nissan Xterra (preferably the later) and I have still had people run while I was driving those. They always seemed to say they "suspected" me to be an undercover cop so I don't believe the car type causes the nervousness. I think they mistake the light shining off my head as some sort of stobe light

I have taken Asian Art Combat, Taekwondo and Tang So Do (which are essentially the same), Muay Thai, American Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Japanese Judo (Judo and Jiu-Jitsu before they were seperated to two different technical styles), Hapkido, Aikido, and Submission Wrestling (Most recently I qualified Level 4 in Army Combatives but that is more of a "bring your own" classification because you can't do much with the training that is given). When training others, the MMA training is a majority of Submission Wrestling for balance and coverage; Muay Thai and Boxing for stand up; Judo and Aikido for take down (Very little Aikido is used but it does translate to a small extent); and BJJ and Submission Wrestling for ground work. I have two guys going pro by the end of the year...they will be at NAGA in Riverdale Georgia at the end of the month as Amateur Intermediate competetors. They will also compete at Wild Bills in Kennesaw and The Forum in Valdosta before the end of September. Plus we are planning a few other fights to get them some exposure and used to the scene. We hope to have a total of six fights, each, with no less than 3 being Georgia Athletic Commission sanctioned amateur events, by December so they can start 2011 as Pros.

Scott I doubt it matters what car we drive in certain areas...in Clarke when we're in Nellie B avenue if the residents see white guys in cars they automatically assume we're cops. Even when my friend is in his tiny 96' Geo Tracker they still think that. What if we rode up in pink Honda Elements, maybe they'll be too busy trying to guess our manhood as we jump out and arrest them.

Actually, handpainting or spray painting a pink or floerecent green stripe on any vehicle and you would fit right in....in most of our neighborhoods anyway. Pleasantdale/Pleasanthill area you may have to hit your rims with some pink or green, too. Build a plywood spoiler for your vehicle, too......Oh, man.....you would have it made. But when you look like us, people just run. I can't count how many people have said "You just look like a cop....so I ran." I think it is the military moustache that makes me look like LE. Damn, DOD....damn you!!!

This is Chris Black with the BOUNTY BOYS- also known as Agent 15. I just discovered this site and found my videos being discussed as well as my choice of vehicle and lights. First, thanks for the accolades on our professionalism- we truly appreciate that you all noticed. Second, our vehicles and lights (which are clear) are not intended to portray police or used for vehicle stops. We do not pull fugitives over. If it were that simple we all would be out of work! We have had to block people in and use other vehicle tactics in order to apprehend people but never use lights in order to affect this purpose. Our lights are for safety of ourselves and vehicles. We also own a security company in which these vehicles are used. We correspond with most police agencies and officers in Oklahoma as well as employ many of them. We have dinner with the DA and Sheriff at least once a month. Our desire is not to be police officers of any kind but rather abolish the stereotype bounty hunter. We are trying to establish a more acceptable and professional idea of what a bounty hunter is. We all know that many people who are bounty hunters are under trained and live on the fringes of society- some of which are on bond themselves! We all have taken a socially unacceptable career choice that requires us to put our lives on the line for a paycheck. And when we try to make it safer and more respected we get bashed for it and told we are a "wanna be". Case in fact is that our videos are not intended for a TV show, as many think, but rather to be completely transparent in all activities of this job. bountyboy,i dont believe any of the previous posts were meant to bash you in anyway.More or less people were stating thier opinions and the way they do things.That said i have seen your videos and have to admit that your tactics seem very affective,I didnt quite understand the whole marked car deal but hey to each his own and if it works dont fix it!!your team seems well trained and i can appreciate how safely you all seem to work.keep up with your videos they are interesting and seem to shed a better light on the business than a certain other popular t.v. show.
