I have just been informed by 2 different news sources that William Michael Barber known here as Micheal Barber has accepted a 3 year plea bargain sentence today on all of his charges.
I was asked what I thought about this for the papers in New Jersey and really did not have much to say other than, he should not be allowed to be on a pen pal list or access to the internet so that he could line up his next victim before being released from prison. That is what he had done in the past .... picked his next victim before he was even released from custody. Anyway he will be visiting Missouri as soon as he is released to answer his charges there.
If anyone has any ideas on how I could get the FEDS on board to charge him please let me know. He has filed a bankruptcy back in 1999 under a false name and a false SS# to the tune of $380,000.00 and no one seems to care. I would think that this is to the level of a Federal crime if anyone could give me some guidance to follow thru with, I will do it.

Bob,
Research the "Ricco" Statute...Also if he used the U.S. Mail for any part of his schemes then he committed postal fraud...and the U.S. Postal Inspectors carry A LOT OF POWER.
Also, on those bankruptcy papers you have to "swear and afirm the following are true..."...if those words or similar other ones are on those papers and he signed them, then he committed perjury in a FEDERAL COURT as bankruptcies are overseen by FEDERAL COURTS.
Lastly, check with the Army..last I heard impersonating a soldier..esp an officer was a felony and carries alot of prison time for it...the Army doesn't like that kind of thing.
Just my 2 cents worth
Ruffin.

Dateline NBC said they plan to air their segment on the 14th of October. They planned on the show being an hour long but, we will have to see what happens after editing.

That was quite a story on tonight's NBC Dateline regarding Michael Barber. I commend the Donnellan's expertise and dedication to purpose in exposing Mr. Barber.
