in my opinion the same problem is occuring all over the america--in the old days we did our jobs quitely behind the scenes without attention from the general public and most of the time without notice from the pds or the media--than the ca-ca hit the fan we had arizona plus other screw ups and we caught the attention of the media the general public and so on--than comes tv bounty hunters, doggy du-du, family bonds etc. next come the wannabees the a-holes schools pop up teaching many people how to make 100.000.00 dollars a year as a bea lieing thru their teeth-the new three day wonders that were butchers bakers and candle stick makers three days ago are now hunting people--the unscrupless bondsmen like capitol bonding hiring any one as cheap as possible-the states trying to fix a problem reactively not proactively and like most politicians not knowing what they are doing or how they are doing it.we land here today-some problems corrected new problems rearing their ugly heads at times-maybe getting better slowly--pds getting educated about us--public has the wrong idea of us but i believe we are making headway in the current-we as a whole are getting better educated working smarter some of the a-hole bondsmen are now criminals themselves-we are policing ourselves better we are forming stratigic alliances amongst ourselves some of the infighting is gone-we have places like this to help us get better and smarter--we have good people giving out good free advice to neophites and good people getting into this thing we call bea

we still have a way to go(i still need to learn how to spell in english not in new york report)we still have schools like the usrb(a blight on all of us)we still have doggie du-du and his mascot beth mudding the waters--they too like all bad things will wither up and die and a new problem will arise but i think we will be strong enough(if i learn to spell)and smart enough to over come it--if we all keep learning and growing and the strong help teach the weak-----one of these days my rottie puma will meet the dog and its all over the dog will become known as puppy--i promose the dog will learn to run on water after a chase from a real dog puma the rottie--my female brittney will also get in a licks of her own--with her puppy will speak with a real high voice--just ask law about puma and brittney

I will agree that reality shows have had an impact on how people react to me on the streets. So far that change has been, well, curiously positive for the most part.

My single biggest problem has to do with getting clients in to pick up their 'reassumption of liability (reinstatement)' form.

In the past, this wasn't that difficult, but more and more people who miss court have plainly stated that they have seen Mr. Chapman's show and "...know it's a trick," which isn't the case.

So now I'm having to track down people on forfeited bonds that would have been a simple fix.

Hadley, your analytical synopsis, as always, can be looked upon as well worth the attention of new people who want to know what's really going on.

Rex

We hear about Dog all the time from LEO's. Its gotten to the point where I shudder every time someone mentions it.

He has definitely hurt our industry to a level surpassing the ones who screw up and end up in court. The bad guys realize what we can and cannot do and use it against us. For many years we were a mystique and I liked that just fine. Now we are as much in the public eye as a politician.

The media could care less about the truth (most them anyway). They, like Chapman, magnify the hype and hoopla into realms of the absurd... much like Shakespeare's 'comedy of errors'. A&E is living up to their last initial... e for entertainment... not like the History Channel or the Discovery Channel or various independent film makers who endeavor to bypass the crap and film facts and truths. Theirs is a difficult endeavor because when it comes time to sell their product there isn't enough 'dysfunction' and 'fiction' to make for an easy and profitable sale.

I have no issues with Leland and Tim. It's Chapman himself and that... er, 'woman' he tags with. It amazes me when she yells at people they are liars when she is about the biggest (in more ways than one) liar I have ever had the gross misfortune to encounter.

We had a group of licensed bail agents down here a couple of years ago operating much in the same fashion as the "dog pound". Very high profile and flamboyant. The State came in and stripped them of their licensing and prosecuted them criminally. Even though this was done we still live with their legacy although over time it's negative impact has lessend.

Many things aggravate me watching Chapman's antics on TV but the most aggravating of all is when an informant is shown on national TV. What an unprofessional way to conduct business. I believe the informant must sign a waiver but that doesn't excuse the act.

I am always impressed with his ability to capture fugitives.....ON AN ISLAND. Have you noticed that his capture rate falls to zero when he hits CONTUS?

I know Hawaii is different than mass, me, nh, and vt but LAW and I are contracted with the three bondsmen that cover that area and we maybe do 4 to 6 revocations a year not 2 an episode--it must be nice when you can make your own work--when you need work throw a dart or pick a file at random and you now have an episode !!!!!! MAGIC !!!!!! it is my firm belief that his antics while comical will help destroy bonding in the long run--some a-hole lawyer will challenge the right of revocation and win with a liberal judge---AGAIN ON THIS FORUM THIS IS AN OPEN INVITE TO DU-DU- AND MERRY MEN AND MASCOT TO COME TO THIS AREA OR ANYWHERE IN THE NORTH EAST AND DEBATE ME LIVE ON THE MEDIA---BRING ALL YOUR AMMO AND I WILL BRING MINE-- I ALSO INVITE YOU AND YOUR CREW TO THIS PART OF NEW ENGLAND TO SEE HOW ITS REALLY DONE--MAYBE MY ASSOCIATE LAW WILL GIVE YOU A SIGNED COPY OF HIS BOOK AND BETH COULD READ IT TO YOU AT BED TIME
