Jennifer, You may consider Taurus's "The Judge". A 5 shot .45/.410 revolver, about the same size as alot of .38's. Loaded with 2 3/4 in. .410 sabot slugs or 00 buckshot, you don't have to worry about being too accurate.... It's also moderately priced: NIB app. $350.00 You can also have different loads...3 rounds of .45, 2 rds of .410, or any combination thereof. Ideal for BEA work, because you could load it with "door breachers", ltl rounds, etc. thus eliminating the long barrelled tactical shotguns. http://www.taurususa.com/video/taurus-t ... -video.cfm

I like the sound of that one RWB. Heard they were on sale recently at Gander Mtn--might have to check it out. Having something that versatile is a win win.

Yea, I would get the Judge if I could. But since the Great State of California classifies it as a "shotgun" the barrel length makes it illegal in the Peoples Repugnant of California.

Well now... I never considered that... I did not make it to the gun shop today but will call in the morning and see what they say.... that is a possibility here also....

Bill,
I don't think that would be a problem in Va.

It also makes for a good snake gun. I used to carry a .45/410 derringer in my top pocket of my waders while trout fishing. More than once "Ol jake" would come eyeballin my rainbows on my stringer.....
Plus, these days, I'm not comfortable hiking into the woods to a trout stream unarmed. Too many crackheads running around in the woods these days. No worse feeling than that of being vulnerable....standing out in the middle of a waist deep trout stream, only to be ordered to turn around and toss over your wallet, keys, etc. at gun point by some punk standing on the bank aiming a gun at you.
Now it hasn't happened to me...but I've heard war stories.

I guess I do still have that 3.5 and the M79 so... and of course I do have a closet full of shotguns... although they are all legal... but it would be neat to have that little "piece". I have always said... "it's always nice to have a little piece"... (and quiet).. alright boys?!!!
