I think the only drawback to this entire recipe is that you need to give away all but 3 cups of the mixture and that is what you make the actual bread out of .... all the rest you either give away or make up another bread batch with 3 cups of the stuff.

... and it requires a real big bowl to mix all this stuff in... but remember that 3 actual cups is what you want to make the bread from... 3 cups per batch... are you confused yet... I know I am.... anyway... just a little clarification. All the rest.. give it away to your friends or make additional bread... :?: :?:

I tried to edit the original post but I guess when you "bump" it... you can no longer edit it... I was gonna correct the recipe but couldn't... just remember the 3 cup rule.

I do not know how, or from whom, I received a 'starter' back in 2001 ~ But I baked off that thing for about three months and yes I gained about 10 lbs . . . I did not give my 'starters' away I gave away the actual bread.
When you tell most folks that the stuff has to sit on the counter for 10 days , they go ~ eeeewww . . . nah, that's alright.
SO . . . Thx BILL . . . Here we go again
